Summary

The Desktop Support Engineer will be responsible for providing on-site maintenance and support for end-user computing devices at the customer’s location. This role involves ensuring optimal performance of desktops, laptops, tablets, mobile devices, printers, copiers, and any applicable applications used within the company's environment. The engineer will also be expected to handle hardware break-fixes, perform software updates, and maintain device inventory as per the defined standards.

Responsibilities

1. End User Computing Maintenance and Support:

  • Provide on-site maintenance and support for desktops, laptops, tablets, mobile devices, and and vendor-managed equipment (such as copiers and printers).
  • Perform remedial maintenance, including hardware break-fix, within the committed Service Level Agreement (SLA).
  • Fulfill approved change requests to user desktop configurations.
  • Perform patch updates on local machines, including laptops, mobile devices, and desktops, where applicable.
  • Maintain an inventory of end-user computing devices.
  • Ensure all desktop and laptop software is maintained according to the agreed Standard Operating Environment.

2. Administrative Support:

  • Provide administrative support for end-user computing devices as needed.
  • Coordinate with vendors for managed equipment support if required.

3. Issue Resolution and Standby Support:

  • Respond to and resolve issues based on severity and categorization determined by the customer.
  • Be on standby after office hours to attend to any critical issues as defined by the severity code.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in end-user computing maintenance and support.
  • Proficiency in handling hardware break-fixes and software updates.
  • Experience in managing and maintaining an inventory of end-user computing devices.
  • Strong understanding of standard operating environments and patch management.
  • Ability to work effectively in a customer environment and adhere to customer schedules.

Job Types: Full-time, Contract
Contract length: 12 months

Pay: Up to RM4,000.00 per month
