We are seeking a skilled professional fluent in Sinhala, Tamil, and English, with a strong background in programming and software development. The ideal candidate will leverage their linguistic proficiency to localize and adapt software solutions while contributing to programming and development tasks. This role requires a unique combination of linguistic and technical expertise to ensure seamless integration of localized solutions across global platforms.

Key Responsibilities

Language and Localization

  • Translate, localize, and proofread software content, user interfaces, and technical documentation in Sinhala, Tamil, and English.
  • Conduct cultural and linguistic quality assurance to ensure accurate and contextually appropriate translations.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to adapt software solutions for Sri Lankan markets.

Programming and Development

  • Participate in the design, coding, and testing of software applications or modules.
  • Debug, optimize, and maintain code to enhance functionality and performance.
  • Develop tools and scripts to streamline localization processes.
  • Work with APIs and libraries to integrate localization features into software solutions.

Collaboration and Support

  • Act as the primary point of contact for Sri Lankan language-related programming tasks.
  • Partner with developers, UX/UI designers, and project managers to ensure technical and linguistic requirements are met.
  • Provide insights on user behavior and cultural nuances to optimize software performance for Sinhala and Tamil-speaking users.

Qualifications

Language Skills

  • Native or near-native proficiency in Sinhala and Tamil, with strong fluency in English (written and spoken).
  • Excellent understanding of grammar, syntax, and cultural context in all three languages.

Technical Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Java, JavaScript, or C#.
  • Experience with software development tools (e.g., Git, VS Code, Jira).
  • Familiarity with localization tools (e.g., SDL Trados, MemoQ) and practices.

Experience

  • 2+ years of experience in software development, programming, or related fields.
  • Prior experience in translation, localization, or language services is a plus.
  • Knowledge of localization best practices and internationalization standards is preferred.

Soft Skills

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
