Job description

  • Reviewing construction plans and preparing quantity requirements.
  • Scrutinizing maintenance and material costs, as well as contracts to ensure the best deals.
  • Liaising with site managers, clients, contractors, and subcontractors.
  • Preparing reports, analyses, contracts, budgets, risk assessment, and other documents.
  • Advising managers and clients on improvements and new strategies.
  • Keeping track of materials and ordering more when required.
  • Documenting any changes in design and updating budgets.
  • Establishing and maintaining professional relationships with external and internal stakeholders.
  • One of the primary responsibilities of a Quantity Surveyor during the Pre Contract phase is to develop a detailed cost plan for the project.
  • Will be involved in the tendering process, which includes preparing and issuing tender documents, evaluating tenders, and recommending the best tenderer.
  • Play a vital role in negotiating the contract terms and conditions with the successful tenderer, ensuring that the terms are fair and balanced.
  • Risk management is a crucial aspect of the Pre Contract phase, and Quantity Surveyors are responsible for identifying and mitigating risks that could impact the project's cost, quality, or schedule.

Quantity Surveyor Requirements:

  • Diploma / Bachelor's degree in quantity surveying, engineering, management, or similar.
  • Construction estimating or finance experienced is advantageous.
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
  • Sound knowledge of construction.
  • Excellent negotiating and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to organize, plan, and strategize.
  • A valid driver's license.
  • Great networking abilities.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: RM1,700.00 - RM7,126.78 per month
