Senior IT Production Support Analyst (5+ years)

Work Experience:

  • 5+ years of experience in IT service management, IT infrastructure support, or as an IT Business Analyst.
  • Extensive experience in the finance, banking, or insurance industries is strongly preferred.

Academic Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Information Technology, Engineering, or Finance/Banking (with a strong IT focus).
  • ITIL certification is preferred.

Technical Skills:

  • Advanced expertise in IT systems and tools:
  • Application Production Support: Deep understanding of production-level application monitoring, troubleshooting, and optimization, including root cause analysis and issue escalation strategies.
  • Data feeding tools: Expertise in MQ and FTPs, with the ability to manage complex integrations and data flow diagnostics.
  • SQL (preferably Oracle): Advanced query writing, performance tuning, and troubleshooting capabilities.
  • Operating Systems: Proficiency in Linux, Unix, Windows, and z/OS with the ability to analyze and resolve OS-level issues.
  • Monitoring tools: Extensive experience with Dynatrace for monitoring and system performance optimization.
  • Scheduler orchestration tools: Advanced knowledge of VTOM for task scheduling and workload automation.
  • Queue/channel management: Expertise in MQMON for managing complex queue configurations and resolving messaging issues.
  • Network Knowledge: Advanced understanding of network infrastructure, including:
  • Protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, etc.).
  • Firewalls, load balancers, and VPNs.
  • Connectivity troubleshooting, packet analysis, and network performance tuning.
  • Development Tools/Frameworks (optional for second-phase support): Cobol, Java, Spring, Palmyra, Angular, JavaScript, UI Studio.

  • Strong leadership and mentorship skills to guide junior team members.
  • Advanced communication and collaboration skills to manage cross-functional interactions.
  • Exceptional problem-solving and strategic thinking capabilities to address complex issues.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and make quick decisions under pressure.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and manage the resolution of high-impact technical and functional issues.
  • Provide advanced support for production applications, including monitoring, incident resolution, and performance improvements.
  • Access server logs and use advanced monitoring tools to analyze root causes of production disruptions.
  • Collaborate with QoS teams, infrastructure providers, and third-party vendors (e.g., DXC) to ensure smooth operations.
  • Strategize and implement techniques to stabilize and optimize IT systems and applications.
  • Lead the development of incident management procedures and best practices.
  • Monitor and report system performance, making recommendations to prevent recurring issues.
  • Evaluate and recommend new tools, systems, and frameworks to improve operational efficiency.
  • Act as a liaison between business units and IT teams for seamless communication and issue resolution.
  • Ensure adherence to change management processes and minimize production risks.
  • Develop comprehensive documentation and maintain knowledge bases for IT support.
