  6. Make sure Off is chosen in the pop-up menu next to the website.
  7. On the left, click Pop-up Windows.
  8. Make sure Allow is chosen in the pop-up menu next to the website.

Job Title: Wintel and Linux Engineer

About the Role:

We are looking for an experienced Wintel and Linux Engineer to join our IT infrastructure team. You will be responsible for managing, configuring, and maintaining both Windows and Linux server environments, ensuring system performance, security, and availability. Your expertise will be key to ensuring seamless operation across multiple platforms.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Install, configure, and manage both Windows Server (Wintel) and Linux servers (e.g., Red Hat, Ubuntu, CentOS).
  • Monitor, optimize, and troubleshoot system performance for both Wintel and Linux environments.
  • Administer and support Windows Server services, including Active Directory, DNS, and file sharing.
  • Administer Linux-based systems and services, including Apache, Nginx, MySQL, SSH, and Cron jobs.
  • Implement and maintain server virtualization platforms such as VMware or Hyper-V.
  • Automate administrative tasks using scripting languages like PowerShell (Windows) and Bash or Python (Linux).
  • Ensure regular system patching, security updates, and configuration changes across both environments.
  • Perform backups, disaster recovery, and ensure high availability of critical systems.
  • Collaborate with other teams (DevOps, Networking, Security) to deploy and integrate systems across different environments.
  • Troubleshoot complex system, network, and application issues, providing timely resolution.
  • Maintain documentation for configurations, system setups, and troubleshooting guides.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of experience managing and maintaining both Windows Server (Wintel) and Linux systems.
  • Strong understanding of Windows Server administration (Active Directory, DNS, IIS, etc.).
  • Hands-on experience with Linux administration (Apache, Nginx, MySQL, SSH, etc.).
  • Experience with server virtualization (VMware, Hyper-V, or similar).
  • Proficiency in scripting and automation (PowerShell for Windows, Bash, Python for Linux).
  • Solid understanding of networking protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, etc.).
  • Experience with cloud computing platforms (AWS, Azure) is a plus.
  • Experience in managing system security, vulnerability assessments, and compliance.

Soft Skills:

  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot both Windows and Linux environments.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with both technical and non-technical teams.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks, manage time efficiently, and work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Attention to detail with a focus on maintaining system security and stability.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Job Types: Full-time, Contract
Contract length: 12 months

Pay: RM3,609.38 - RM10,000.00 per month
