About the role
Local Sourcing and Project Management for Non-Direct Materials Commodity - Responsible for local sourcing, and project management that includes implementing global strategies at site to meet cost targets. Also includes ensuring sufficient material supply for production needs.

The procurement organization at Nexperia is globally managed with a local presence on all major sites. Procurement manages the purchase of all materials and services from external parties for both Production purposes (e.g. wafers and gold wire) and Non-Production purposes (e.g. R&D materials, consultants and travel).
As a procurement Section Manager for Direct Material FOR Manufacturing, you will be part of a highly engaged global BE Team.
Proven experience in a manufacturing environment and direct material purchasing is required, preferred in a Semiconductor or Automotive environment.
What you will do:
  • As an operations Section Manager will oversee daily operational activities, ensuring efficient workflows, resource plan allocation, and follow up cross-functional team follow-up. Will manage cross-functional peers, monitor operational processes, implement strategies to optimize productivity, and ensure adherence to safety and quality standards. This role is crucial in maintaining smooth operations and achieving organizational goals.
  • Negotiating the procurement of BOM (Build of Material) materials, including non-direct material commodities, and ensuring the implementation of Purchase Order terms and other contracts, such as Consignment Agreements, VMI, and local supplier sourcing.
  • Proven experience in sourcing and buying packaging materials such as carrier tapes, boxes, EMC materials, reels, solder anode, and epoxy glue.
  • Familiarity with semiconductor packaging processes and requirements for materials used in back-end manufacturing.
  • Ability to establish and maintain relationships with suppliers, negotiate pricing, and ensure timely delivery of quality materials.
  • Basic understanding of materials, including their properties, applications, and compatibility with semiconductor components.
  • Ensure adequate stock levels of materials, manage lead times, and address shortages or overstock issues.
  • Focus on cost-effective purchasing while maintaining the quality and reliability of materials.
  • Drive cross-functional( Supply Chain Management, Engineering (CPE), Production) teams to achieve yearly cost reduction targets.
  • Preparation of Quarterly & Monthly Spend & Savings Report.
  • Ensure supply continuity during ramp-ups and manage suppliers during slowdowns; manage phase-in/phase-out plans for material purchases for new products and discontinued products.
  • Facilitates timely arrival of qualification samples and communicates to suppliers new development-related projects.
  • Vendor performance assessment through quarterly SRS (Supplier Rating System) and review meetings with suppliers.
  • Manage/Qualify Supplier performance in terms of quality, cost, delivery, technology and service, in order to achieve a best-in-class supply base.
  • Maintain close relationship with supplier’s key account manager, to ensure proper deployment of company requirements at supplier and be the focal point for any escalations towards supplier.
  • Performs supplier tiering within the organization to ensure all strategic, key and commercial suppliers are classified and strategies developed around their importance.
  • Accountable for regular performance SRS (supplier rating scorecard) & business reviews with suppliers.
  • Bachelor (or higher) degree, preferably from Engineering, Procurement or Supply Chain background.
  • At least over 7-10 years of related working experience in the electronic/semi-conductor field.
  • Experience working in a manufacturing environment is a plus.
  • Excellent people management skills and negotiation skills in handling/building internal & external vendor relationships.
  • Ability to drive Project Management with strong leadership capabilities.
  • Familiarity with sourcing and vendor management.
  • Interested in a fast-paced environment, and market dynamics with good business sense.
  • High sense of urgency with the ability to prioritize to meet required KPIs & deadlines.
  • Demonstrate a strong customer service attitude.
  • Ability to gather and analyze data and work with figures.
  • Solid judgments with the ability to make good decisions.
  • A knack for negotiating and networking.
  • High level of integrity with a strong emphasis on meeting commitments.
  • Technical knowledge of semiconductor direct materials is an added advantage.
What you will need:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business or other related experience.
  • 10 years of experience in global procurement, supply chain or material supply.
  • Experience in the direct material area required, in Semiconductor Foundry / BOM beneficial.
