We are seeking a dedicated and organized Paralegal to join our team. The Paralegal will play a vital role in providing consultancy services to clients namely on trademark, patent, industrial design and copyright. The ideal candidate should be detail-oriented, proactive, and possess excellent organizational and communication skills.
What would my responsibilities entail?
1. Execution of IP (Trademarks & Patents) submission cases
- Conduct comprehensive patent and trademark searches and provide analysis of search results to evaluate the patentability or registrability of inventions and trademarks.
- Prepare, draft, and file patent applications, including provisional and non-provisional applications, in compliance with relevant laws, rules, and regulations.
- Collaborate with inventors, agents, and clients to ensure accurate and timely preparation, filing, and prosecution of patent applications.
- Assist in the reviewing and filing of trademark applications, responses to office actions, and other related documents.
2. Assisting on IP related legal drafting / due diligence
- Collaborate with attorneys in the drafting and negotiation of intellectual property agreements, including license agreements, confidentiality agreements, and assignments
- Conduct due diligence investigations and analysis of intellectual property portfolios for potential acquisitions or licensing agreements.
- Support attorneys in intellectual property litigation cases by conducting legal research and preparing legal documents.
3. IP consulting
- Assist in developing intellectual property strategies and provide strategic advice to clients to enhance the value and protection of their intellectual property assets.
4. Monitoring of clients IP records
- Monitor patent and trademark deadlines, maintain records, and coordinate with clients for the maintenance and renewal of intellectual property assets.
5. Staying on par with latest IP developments
- Stay updated on changes in intellectual property laws, regulations, and best practices, and provide recommendations to clients and attorneys.
6. Enhancing market awareness / Educating the market
- Creating articles to spread market awareness on the benefits/importance of IP and updating the public/clients on latest IP trends in general.
What are the job requirements?
- Bachelor's degree in Law, Engineering, Business Management or a related field. Advanced degree or certification in Intellectual Property is preferred.
- Previous experience in an intellectual property firm or law firm, specializing in patent and trademark matters is an advantage.
- In-depth knowledge of patent and trademark laws, regulations, and procedures. Familiarity with patent and trademark databases, search tools, and docketing systems.
- Excellent research and analytical skills, with meticulous attention to detail.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex information clearly and effectively.
- Proficiency in intellectual property management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Must maintain a high degree of integrity and confidentiality.

Pay: RM3,000.00 - RM5,000.00 per month
