Job Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Network & Desktop Support Engineer to join our IT team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining and supporting desktop systems, providing excellent technical support to our staff, and handling 1st level application support. This role also involves some network support, specifically focusing on switches and routers, and requires strong documentation and reporting skills, a willingness to learn and improve, in addition to a combination of technical skills, problem-solving abilities, and excellent communication.
Key Responsibilities:
Desktop Support:
· Provide technical support for desktop systems, including hardware, software, and peripherals.
· Install, configure, and update operating systems and applications.
· Troubleshoot and resolve desktop hardware and software issues.
· Manage user accounts, permissions, and access controls in Active Directory.
Technical Assistance:
· Provide on-site and remote support to end-users.
· Assist with the setup and maintenance of printers, scanners, and other office equipment.
· Educate and train users on best practices for using IT systems.
1st Level Application Support:
· Provide first-level support for enterprise applications, including troubleshooting and resolving issues.
· Assist users with application-related questions and issues.
· Escalate complex issues to second-level support or vendors as necessary.
· Document application support activities and resolutions.
Network Support:
· Assist with the maintenance and troubleshooting of LAN/WAN infrastructure, focusing on switches and routers.
· Perform basic network configuration and installation of switches and routers.
· Support network security measures to protect data, software, and hardware.
System Maintenance:
· Conduct regular system updates, patches, and backups.
· Maintain an inventory of IT assets and ensure proper documentation.
· Collaborate with other IT team members to support larger projects and initiatives.
· Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures related to IT.
Website & other Softwares development
· Website content update & maintenance
· Work hand in hand with the developer
· Maintaining & update google pages related to company
· Update knowledge, skills needed for all types of software used in the company
· Conduct training & support for other staff in regards to the software used
· Analyse the software, decision of purchase
Documentation and Reporting:
· Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for processes, procedures, and configurations.
· Prepare regular reports on system performance, support activities, and project status.
· Document troubleshooting steps and solutions for future reference.
· Ensure all IT documentation is up-to-date and accessible to relevant team members.
Other Adhoc job & task related to IT & other technical issues in the company as dictate by the directors/management
Qualifications:
· Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
· Relevant certifications (e.g., CompTIA Network+, CompTIA A+, Microsoft Certified: Windows Server) are a plus.
Experience:
· Fresh graduates with relevant internships or project experience, and professionals with 1 to 3 years of experience in desktop support, end-user device support, or application support.
· Proven experience in supporting end-user devices and applications is highly desirable.
· Basic knowledge of network protocols, with a focus on switches and routers.
Technical Skills:
· Proficient in Windows and Mac operating systems.
· Strong knowledge of desktop hardware and software.
· Experience with Active Directory, Office 365, and remote desktop tools.
· Familiarity with enterprise application environments and support.
· Basic understanding of networking concepts and hardware, particularly switches and routers.
· Strong documentation and reporting skills, with attention to detail.

· Strong verbal and written communication skills.
· Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
· Strong customer service orientation and interpersonal skills.
