About the role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Mechanist (Fitter/Welder) to join our team at Sabah Flour & Feed Mills Sdn Bhd in Labuan. This is a full-time position that will play a crucial role in maintaining and repairing our specialized equipment and machinery.

What you'll be doing

  • Perform skilled fitter and welding work to install, maintain and repair a wide range of industrial machinery and equipment
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical issues, and implement effective solutions
  • Read and interpret technical drawings, manuals and specifications to carry out repairs and modifications
  • Ensure all work is completed to a high standard, meeting relevant safety and quality standards
  • Collaborate with other team members to coordinate maintenance activities and projects
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of maintenance practices and procedures

What we're looking for

  • Minimum 5 years' experience as a fitter/welder in an industrial or manufacturing environment
  • Strong mechanical and technical skills, with the ability to read and interpret technical diagrams and documentation
  • Proficient in performing a range of welding techniques
  • Commitment to following safety procedures and maintaining a safe working environment
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively as part of a team
