Purpose :

Supporting SBO Center Head and site HSE Manager for providing comprehensive Health, Safety & Environment services, advice and support including but not limited to Risk Identification, Evaluation & Control, HSSE Training/Coaching, Emergency Response, Incident Management reporting, investigations & learnings, Assurance and Sustainability activities. Initiate, coordinate and drive HSSE programs to completion, applying problem solving, decision-making and learner mindset skills and behaviours.

Accountabilities

1. Supporting the RE HSE Manager in operationalizing the HSE Management System (HSE MS) of the centre, interfacing with employees and contractor personnel to identify and mitigate HSE risks and develop and maintain required HSSE plans.

2. Provide advice and support to the centre to ensure no harm to people and assets and to ensure compliance to all Local regulatory requirements and Group HSSE Standards and guidelines.

3. Key Stakeholders: Centre front line leaders and staff, Facilities Management Teams, Emergency Responders, Sustainability network, Contractors, staff and Visitors, as needed.

4. Driving implementation and maintenance (including continuous improvement) of the office HSE management system, monitoring and reporting on HSE performance on a regular basis.

5. Carrying out HSSE risk assessment of centre assets and plan and coordinating assurance programs (audits, safety walks and assurance) – E.g. Safety Day, Theme of the Month, Life Saving rules etc) including communications and knowledge sharing.

6. Driving sustainability / green energy initiatives in collaboration with Centre leadership and Sustainability champions and continue to drive the agenda throughout the year.

7. (as required) Being part of the SBO Sustainability network and work to bring in best practices and support the centre GM in achieving sustainability goals monitoring and reporting on Sustainability performance.

8. Supporting Line managers in timely and robust incident investigations and reporting in the specified databases (e.g. Sphera). Manage the reporting database, analyse & interpret data, communicate learnings and perform quality assurance of all HSSE investigations.

9. May be required to be acting HSE Manager during absences.

Skill Sets

1. Bachelor's degree and 1-2 years of working experience in HSSE.

2. Knowledge in applying risk-based safety management principles.

3. Good communication and presentation skills in English and local languages (training / experience).

4. Proven skill at delivery through influencing without direct authority.

5. Demonstrated capacity to intervene.

6. Program leadership, coordination and self-directed problem solving skills.

7. Familiarity with local legislative framework.

8. Emergency response planning and preparedness.

9. Driving or coordinating Incident management and learning opportunities, including with business partners.

10. Driving or coordinating local HSSE assurance activities, analysing for trends & sharing learnings

Job Types: Full-time, Contract
Contract length: 6 months

Pay: RM3,000.00 - RM3,500.00 per month
