Business Sweden works with leading multinational companies, SMEs, and start-ups across all industries, and our clients’ business is often driven by digitalization, innovation, and sustainability. We help Swedish companies enter new markets, understand market dynamics, identify local partners, appreciate the regulatory landscape, and build out their services or product offering. Our consultancy services include market entry & growth strategies, sales acceleration, as well as Public Affairs support. We also have strong promotional platforms as well as the new Trade and Development assignment in the region.
From our office in Kuala Lumpur, you will join region SSEA, a region within Business Sweden that operates from 9 local offices across region SSEA, from Afghanistan to the Philippines.
The role includes both strategic, tactical, and operational responsibilities such as:
- Collecting, analysing, and presenting information and insights from interactions with external stakeholders on the market.
- Supporting senior colleagues in sales dialogues by insight-driven development of new business opportunities as well as prospecting.
- Preparing and arranging promotional events, round table discussions, and B2B meetings for Swedish companies.
- Supporting our collaboration with the Swedish Embassies in the countries we operate in, to provide support and business promotion platforms for Swedish companies.
- Helping identify and be part of Trade and Development projects.
We expect that you enjoy driving your own initiatives as well as teamwork, as the role comes with a high degree of freedom and responsibility. The role is based in Kuala Lumpur, but you will be expected to work with our teams and clients around the world, as required.

Formal requirements
- Master of Science in Business Administration or Engineering or equivalent.
- Recent university degree or 1-2 years of relevant working experience (e.g., consulting, business development, internationalisation, government affairs, or trade and development).
- Excellent skills in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
- Local market experience from studies or work.
- High level of proficiency in English and Bahasa.
- Experience living/working in other parts of the world is a merit.
