Job Summary:

The Procurement Manager is responsible for overseeing the company's procurement activities to ensure the timely and cost-effective acquisition of goods and services. This role involves managing supplier relationships, negotiating contracts, maintaining procurement policies, and working closely with other departments to meet operational needs. The Procurement Manager ensures that all procurement processes are compliant with company standards and regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supplier Management:
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, ensuring that quality, price, and delivery standards are met.
  • Evaluate and select suppliers based on cost, quality, and reliability.
  • Conduct regular supplier performance reviews and negotiate contracts.
  • Procurement Strategy:
  • Develop and implement procurement strategies to ensure cost efficiency and quality standards.
  • Monitor market trends and supplier performance to make informed purchasing decisions.
  • Forecast procurement needs based on future business goals and trends.
  • Contract Negotiation and Management:
  • Lead negotiations with suppliers to secure favourable terms and conditions.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, ethical standards, and legal requirements during procurement.
  • Draft, review, and manage contracts to ensure timely fulfilment and compliance.
  • Inventory Management:
  • Coordinate with inventory teams to ensure adequate stock levels while minimizing excess inventory.
  • Track and report on purchasing budgets and forecasts.
  • Collaboration:
  • Work closely with internal departments (e.g., Finance, Operations, Outlets, Warehouse) to ensure seamless procurement processes.
  • Provide expertise and guidance on procurement best practices across the organization.
  • Work closely with IT team to build backend system for better procurement SOP
  • Risk Management:
  • Identify and mitigate potential procurement-related risks.
  • Ensure that procurement activities align with the organization’s sustainability and ethical sourcing goals.
  • Reporting and Analysis:
  • Prepare and present reports on procurement activities, cost savings, and supplier performance to senior management.
  • Analyze procurement data to identify opportunities for improvement.

Qualifications:

  • Education:
  • Bachelor Degree in Pharmacy, Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Supply Chain Management, or related field (required).
  • Master’s degree or relevant certifications (CIPS, CPM) is a plus.
  • Experience:
  • Proven experience (2 years) in procurement, sourcing, or supply chain management.
  • Experience in contract negotiations and supplier management.
  • Skills:
  • Strong negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Proficiency in procurement software and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, etc.).
  • Personal Attributes:
  • Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills.
  • Ability to build relationships and work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders.
  • High level of integrity and ethical conduct.
