Key Responsibilities:
Compliance and Auditing:
- Regularly audit and inspect maintenance procedures and work completed to ensure compliance with CAAM regulations, international aviation safety standards, and company policies.
- Review the implementation of aircraft maintenance procedures in line with national and international aviation authorities (e.g., CAAM, EASA, FAA).
Documentation and Reporting:
- Ensure the accurate completion of all maintenance documentation, including service reports, inspection logs, and maintenance records, as required by CAAM and company standards.
- Prepare detailed quality assurance reports and audit findings for senior management, highlighting areas of concern and recommending corrective actions.
Training and Awareness:
- Organize and deliver training to maintenance personnel on quality assurance processes, regulatory requirements, and best practices to ensure full understanding and compliance.
- Promote a culture of continuous learning and improvement within the maintenance team.
Risk and Safety Management:
- Work closely with the safety management team to integrate safety protocols into all maintenance processes.
- Identify potential quality or safety risks and collaborate with the maintenance team to implement corrective measures.
Root Cause Analysis:
- Lead investigations into any quality incidents or discrepancies, performing root cause analysis and ensuring corrective and preventive actions are taken.
- Track and analyze recurring issues to minimize their recurrence and improve overall maintenance operations.
Supplier and Vendor Management:
- Assess and approve external suppliers, vendors, and contractors to ensure they meet the required quality standards for parts and materials used in aircraft maintenance.
- Monitor the quality of parts and services provided by suppliers and take corrective actions if needed.
Continuous Improvement:
- Recommend improvements to the quality assurance processes and maintenance systems to enhance efficiency, safety, and regulatory compliance.
- Assist in the implementation of quality management tools and techniques (e.g., Six Sigma, Lean) for continuous improvement of maintenance operations.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Aeronautical Engineering, Aviation Maintenance, or a related field.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in aircraft maintenance and quality assurance, preferably in the Malaysian aviation industry.
- Strong knowledge of CAAM regulations, safety standards, and international aviation regulations (FAA, EASA, ICAO).
- Certification in Quality Management (ISO 9001, Six Sigma) is advantageous.
- Proficient in using quality assurance software and tools for data management and analysis.
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal), with the ability to interact effectively with various teams.
Preferred Skills:
- Knowledge or experience working with Malaysian Civil Aviation Authority (CAAM) procedures and guidelines.
- Previous experience with specific aircraft types or systems.
- Experience in implementing safety management systems (SMS) within aircraft maintenance environments.
