Job description

1. General Ledger Management:

  • Maintain and oversee all general ledger accounts.
  • Prepare and post journal entries for accruals, prepayments, adjustments, and other financial transactions.

2. Account Reconciliation:

  • Perform regular reconciliations of bank accounts, intercompany balances, and other key ledger accounts.
  • Investigate and resolve discrepancies or errors in accounts.

3. Month-End and Year-End Close:

  • Assist in the preparation and execution of month-end and year-end closing activities.
  • Prepare financial reports, including balance sheets, profit and loss statements, and cash flow statements

4. Compliance and Controls:

  • Ensure compliance with applicable accounting standards (e.g., IFRS, GAAP) and internal controls.
  • Support audits by providing documentation and explanations to auditors

5. Financial Analysis:

  • Analyze financial data to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Provide insights and recommendations to improve financial efficiency.

6. Collaboration:

  • Work closely with accounts payable, accounts receivable, and other departments to ensure accurate and timely recording of transactions.
  • Partner with external parties such as auditors, consultants, and regulators as needed.

7. System Maintenance:

  • Assist with maintaining and optimizing accounting systems and tools.
  • Support system upgrades and data migration processes.

8. Ad-Hoc Tasks:

  • Handle special projects or tasks as assigned by management

Job Requirement

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. Professional certifications such as CPA, ACCA, or CIMA are a plus.
  • Proven experience (3-5 years) in general ledger accounting or a similar role. o Strong knowledge of accounting principles, standards, and regulations.
  • Proficiency in accounting software (SQL and QuickBooks).
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, etc.).
  • High attention to detail and accuracy. Strong problem-solving, analytical, and organizational skills. Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
  • Familiarity with tax regulations and reporting requirements.
  • Experience supporting internal and external audits is preferred.
