Purchasing Executive cum Quantity Surveyor

Job Responsibilities:

• Source, negotiate, and procure materials, equipment, and services required for projects.
• Establish and maintain relationships with vendors and suppliers to ensure the best quality and pricing.
• Evaluate supplier performance and maintain a list of approved suppliers.
• Prepare purchase orders, contracts, and other procurement documentation.
• Ensure all procurement activities align with company policies and project specifications.
• Monitor stock levels and coordinate replenishment to avoid project delays.
• Oversee material delivery schedules to ensure timely availability.
• Negotiate with suppliers for cost-effective solutions without compromising quality.
• Research and propose alternative materials or vendors to reduce costs.
• Prepare detailed cost estimates for projects, including material, labor, and overheads.
• Assist in preparing tender and contract documents, including bills of quantities (BOQs).
• Conduct regular cost reviews and identify areas for cost savings.
• Perform quantity take-offs and material measurement from drawings and specifications.
• Evaluate and certify contractor claims, variations, and payment applications.
• Prepare periodic cost reports to inform stakeholders of financial status.
• Provide input for final project cost reports and assist in closing accounts.

Job Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Quantity Surveying, Procurement, Civil Engineering or a related field.
• 2-5 years of experience in procurement, quantity surveying, or a similar role.
• Familiarity with local construction and procurement regulations.
• Good communication, interpersonal skills and customer relation management with high proficiency in verbal and written English.
• Knowledge of project management principles is an added advantage.
• Good work attitude, flexible, able to work independently and willing to take on challenges.

Job Type: Contract
Contract length: 24 months

Pay: RM2,900.00 - RM4,000.00 per month
