Job Summary:

We are looking for a hardworking and reliable Kitchen Assistant to support our kitchen operations. The ideal candidate will assist chefs and kitchen staff in food preparation, cleaning, and maintaining a hygienic kitchen environment. This role is essential in ensuring smooth kitchen workflow and upholding food safety standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in basic food preparation tasks, such as chopping vegetables, portioning ingredients, and preparing simple dishes.
  • Wash, peel, and cut ingredients as needed for meal preparation.
  • Keep workstations, utensils, and kitchen equipment clean and sanitized.
  • Wash dishes, cookware, and kitchen tools while maintaining proper hygiene practices.
  • Store and organize ingredients properly, ensuring freshness and stock rotation.
  • Dispose of kitchen waste correctly and follow cleaning schedules.
  • Assist in receiving and unpacking food deliveries, checking for quality and proper storage.
  • Follow all health, safety, and hygiene regulations in the kitchen.
  • Support chefs and kitchen staff as needed during busy service hours.

Requirements & Qualifications:

  • Prior experience in a kitchen or food service role is a plus, but not required.
  • Basic understanding of food safety and hygiene practices.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks.
  • Physical stamina to stand for long periods and perform manual tasks.
  • Good teamwork and communication skills.
  • Willingness to learn and follow instructions from senior kitchen staff.
  • Flexibility to work shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
