Sous Chef (Non Halal)

Overview: We are seeking a talented and motivated Sous Chef to join our culinary team. The Sous Chef will assist the Executive Chef in overseeing kitchen operations, including food preparation, cooking, and maintaining sanitation standards. The ideal candidate should have a passion for culinary arts, strong leadership skills, and a commitment to delivering exceptional dining experiences.
Responsibilities:
1. Kitchen Management:
- Assist the Executive Chef in planning and directing food preparation.
- Supervise and train kitchen staff, ensuring adherence to recipes and quality standards.
- Monitor inventory levels and order supplies as needed.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of all kitchen areas.
2. Food Preparation and Cooking:
- Prepare and cook dishes according to recipes, quality standards, and presentation guidelines.
- Ensure that all food products are handled, stored, and prepared safely and hygienically.
- Collaborate with the culinary team to develop new menu items and specials.
3*. Quality Control:*
- Conduct quality checks on ingredients and finished dishes to ensure consistency and excellence.
- Assist in maintaining high standards of food quality and restaurant cleanliness.
4. Menu Planning and Cost Control:
- Assist in menu planning and development based on seasonal availability and culinary trends.
- Control food costs and minimize waste by managing portion sizes and maintaining inventory.
5. Leadership and Teamwork:
- Lead by example, fostering a positive and professional work environment.
- Motivate and inspire kitchen staff to deliver excellent culinary results.
- Collaborate with front-of-house staff to ensure seamless service and guest satisfaction.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a Sous Chef or senior line cook in a high-volume kitchen environment.
- Culinary degree or equivalent certification preferred.
- Strong knowledge of cooking techniques, food safety standards, and kitchen equipment.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and high-pressure environment.
- Leadership and team-building abilities.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: RM3,500.00 - RM6,000.00 per month
