Client & Project Overview:
We are seeking a skilled Cloud Engineer with a specialization in Serverless Computing to join our Cloud Engineering team supporting the Google Workspace Support project for our client. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work in a cloud-native environment, focusing on the design, deployment, and optimization of serverless applications across cloud platforms.
Key Responsibilities:
As a Cloud Engineer (Serverless Specialization), you will:
Maintain serverless architectures using cloud-native services.
Implement and optimize event-driven architectures, microservices, and API gateways to ensure scalability and performance.
Develop and deploy infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as YAML and JSON.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate serverless applications into existing cloud environments.
Ensure secure and efficient communication within serverless environments using OAuth2, SSL, HTTP headers, and other security best practices.
Respond to, diagnose, resolve, and track customer support queries and community support cases via phone, email, and chat.
Utilize troubleshooting tools and techniques to establish root causes for incidents and provide customer-facing root cause assessments.
Classify and document problem categories, recommending preventative actions for future issue mitigation.
File detailed issue reports to Level 3 support, build documentation, procedures, and steps to reproduce issues, and suggest code-level resolutions for complex product bugs.
Perform community management tasks and contribute to technical forums as needed.
Handle customer-specific architectural design requirements, providing solutions tailored to serverless platforms and related services.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Computer Science preferred) with 4+ years of professional experience in cloud engineering, specializing in serverless technologies.
Intermediate proficiency in Python or Java for serverless application development.
Strong hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines, automating deployment processes for serverless solutions.
Intermediate knowledge of web technologies, including HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
Excellent in authentication and security mechanisms such as OAuth2, SSL, and HTTP headers to ensure compliance and data protection.
Intermediate skill in JSON, YAML, and configuration management for cloud services.
Strong knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP), with specialization in at least one provider.
Professional certifications such as AWS Certified Developer – Associate, Azure Solutions Architect, or Google Cloud Professional Developer are a major plus.
Technical Skills:
Cloud Platforms: AWS, Azure, GCP (specialization in at least one).
Programming Languages: Python or Java – Intermediate.
Infrastructure as Code (IaC): JSON, YAML – Intermediate.
Web Development: HTML, CSS, JavaScript – Intermediate.
Security: OAuth2, SSL, HTTP headers – Intermediate.
CI/CD Pipelines: Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI/CD – Intermediate.
Preferred Experience:
Familiarity with API gateway services, event-driven design patterns, and cloud-native development practices.
Strong understanding of cloud storage options and integrations in serverless architectures.
Experience working with monitoring tools to analyze serverless function performance and latency.
Scripting experience with Node.js for automation purposes.
Knowledge of containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes is a plus.
Additional Responsibilities:
Provide architectural recommendations and best practices for serverless solution implementation.
Document processes, troubleshooting guides, and knowledge-sharing materials.
Engage with stakeholders to ensure alignment of serverless solutions with business objectives.
Contribute to ongoing efforts to improve deployment processes and operational efficiency.
