Function: The Assistance Manager will oversee the surface mount technology assembly process and equipment within the manufacturing facility. Responsible for ensuring efficient production operations, maintaining equipment performance, and implementing best practices to optimize the PCBA process. Collaborate with engineering, quality assurance, and production teams to drive continuous improvement and support the production of high-quality electronic assemblies.

Job Responsibilities:

1)Process Management

  • Develop, implement, and optimize SMT assembly processes to enhance productivity and reduce waste.
  • Analyze production data and troubleshoot process issues, recommending corrective actions as needed.
  • Establish and maintain process documentation, including work instructions and standard operating procedures (SOPs).

2)Equipment Oversight:

  • Manage the maintenance, calibration, and repair of SMT equipment, ensuring maximum uptime and efficiency.
  • Evaluate and recommend new equipment purchases or upgrades to enhance production capabilities.
  • Collaborate with vendors for equipment servicing, repairs, and parts procurement.

3)Team Leadership:

  • Supervise and mentor a team of process engineers and technicians, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and skill development.
  • Conduct training sessions for staff on new processes, equipment operation, and safety procedures.

4) Quality Assurance:

  • Work closely with the quality assurance team to ensure compliance with industry standards and customer requirements.
  • Implement and monitor quality control processes to minimize defects and improve yield rates.

5) Collaboration and Communication:

  • Liaise with cross-functional teams, including R&D, manufacturing, and supply chain, to ensure alignment on production goals and project timelines.
  • Provide technical support and expertise to resolve issues related to assembly processes and equipment.

6)Continuous Improvement:

  • Identify opportunities for process enhancements and lead initiatives such as Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma projects.
  • Analyze production metrics and KPIs to drive data-informed decisions and strategies.

Competency:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering or Diploma in Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering.
  • Strong knowledge of SMT processes, equipment, and technologies (e.g., pick-and-place machines, reflow ovens).
  • Familiarity with industry standards such as IPC-A-610 and IPC-J-STD-001.
  • Proficient in data analysis tools and software (e.g., SPC, MRP systems).
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across departments.
  • Demonstrated leadership abilities and team management experience.
  • Minimum of [5-7] years of experience in SMT assembly processes and equipment management.
  • Proven experience in a leadership role within a manufacturing environment.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: RM6,000.00 - RM10,000.00 per month

Schedule:

  • Day shift
  • Monday to Friday

Supplemental Pay:

  • 13th month salary
