Position Summary: The Senior Accountant is responsible for overseeing and managing financial reporting and accounting operations. This role involves preparing accurate financial statements, ensuring compliance with accounting standards, and supporting various financial functions within the organization. The Senior Accountant will also assist in the development and implementation of accounting policies and procedures to improve efficiency and accuracy. Key Responsibilities: 1. Financial Reporting: Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements. Ensure accurate and timely reporting of financial information in accordance with Malaysian Accounting Standard Board (MASB) Assist in the preparation of reports for senior management and external stakeholders. 2. General Ledger Management: Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts. Oversee the accuracy of journal entries and ensure proper documentation. 3. Account Reconciliation: Perform monthly bank reconciliations and balance sheet reconciliations. Investigate and resolve discrepancies. 4. Audit Support: Coordinate and support internal and external audits. Prepare audit schedules and provide necessary documentation. 5. Compliance and Controls: Ensure adherence to accounting policies and regulatory requirements. Implement and monitor internal controls to safeguard company assets. 6. Budgeting and Forecasting: Assist in the development of annual budgets and forecasts. Analyze financial performance and variances against budgets. 7. Team Leadership: Mentor and train junior accounting staff. Review and supervise the work of accounting assistants or clerks. 8. Process Improvement: Identify and recommend process improvements to enhance efficiency. Assist in the implementation of new accounting systems or software. 9. Special Projects: Participate in special projects or assignments as needed. Provide financial analysis and support for various business initiatives. Requirements: Education: • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. • CPA or equivalent certification preferred, or in progress. Experience: • Minimum of 8 years of experience in accounting or a related field. • Experience with financial reporting, general ledger management, and account reconciliation. • Previous experience in a senior or supervisory role is a plus. Skills: • Proficient in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, Oracle) and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint). • Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial regulations. • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. • High attention to detail and accuracy. • Strong organizational and time-management abilities. • Effective communication and interpersonal skills. • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
