Post-Doctoral Research Fellow

Duties and Responsibilities: 1) Conduct full-time research at the Research Center, within a Research Group, or under the supervision of the Principal Investigator, with each center or research group comprising at least three (3) or more researchers. 2) Produce a minimum of two (2) publications per year. These publications must be related to the research project specified in the current contract and meet the following criteria: (a) For researchers in science and technology, publications must be in Q1 or Q2 peer-reviewed journals. (b) For researchers in social sciences, publications must be in peer-reviewed journals or UM-published journals indexed by WoS or Scopus. (c) The researcher must be either the first or second author of the publication. (d) Each publication must include the name of the Principal Investigator or a member of the research group associated with the project. (e) All publications must be produced within the contractual appointment period as an FPPD. 3) Submit a research progress report to the Head of the Research Center, Head of the Research Group, or Principal Investigator every six (6) months. 4) May be required to conduct lectures/tutorials for no more than four (4) hours per week. 5) Submit a final written research report at the end of the service period, verified by the Head of the Research Center, Head of the Research Group, or Principal Investigator. Candidate’s requirements: 1) Possess a PhD degree 2) For PhD thesis written in languages other than English, candidates must have a minimum score of 600 – TOEFL / Band 6.5 IELTS. 3) Excellent publication track record – At least 3 ISI papers (2 Q1 and Q1/Q2/Q3/Q4) and as First Author of the publication. Supervisor’s requirements (Candidates must find supervisor that fulfil the criteria as shown below): 1) Potential supervisor/PI (Principal Investigator) who is suitable with the candidate’s research area 2) Potential supervisor/PI must have external grants. FRGS is not counted. (a) Science & Technology Field At least RM100k and above (balance of the grant at the time of application) (b) Social Science Field At least RM50k and above (balance of the grant at the time of application)
