Operations & Maintenance (O&M) Contractual and Commercial Specialist

Location: Federal Territory of Kuala Lumpur

Evaluate and ensure O&M business unit interests are incorporated into project contracts and commercial values during project development phases. Develop operational strategies in conjunction with the Development Manager while aligning with Business Unit policies and standards.

Ensure thorough assessment, evaluation, and response to contractual and commercial aspects of each proposal or project. Lead and execute contractual and commercial scopes related to operations while providing technical input to support project development.

Core Responsibilities

Group Fleet Operation

  • Promote O&M business and brand awareness across all working locations.
  • Represent O&M business unit at Proposal Office contractual/commercial meetings.
  • Identify and promote unified and harmonized contractual/commercial practices across the global fleet.
  • Review current O&M contracts within the global fleet and recommend strategic improvements.

Proposals (Concept Studies, Concept Select, Pre-FEED)

  • Review client contract documents and coordinate reviews with relevant stakeholders.
  • Evaluate commercial requirements and develop strategic approaches to ensure optimal contract outcomes.
  • Lead O&M contractual and commercial discussions and finalize strategies with relevant stakeholders.
  • Represent O&M business unit in contractual and commercial discussions with clients and potential customers.
  • Interface with internal stakeholders to secure endorsements on key decisions.
  • Evaluate potential risks associated with project locations and develop mitigation strategies in coordination with third-party experts.

New Concept Development & Product Digitalization

  • Propose new contractual/commercial development ideas to enable future business or enhance project value.
  • Represent O&M in the maturation and qualification process across all phases while ensuring alignment with business units.

Post Award Follow-Up (FEED, EPCI & Operations Readiness)

  • Provide input on transition plans between project phases, ensuring seamless handovers.
  • Plan and prepare structured handover sessions for execution teams.
  • Support pre-operation processes and execution teams until formal transitions are complete.

HSEQ Requirements and Code of Conduct

  • Comply with the HSEQ Code of Conduct as outlined in the HSEQ Policies and Procedures to protect people and the environment.
  • Ensure that all personnel work safely and in compliance with health and safety standards.
  • Follow the company Group Policy Code of Business Conduct and Ethics at all times.

Financial and Operational Dimensions/Impact and Decision-making Authority

  • Review corporate O&M documentation and provide feedback as the Operations Representative for company standards.
  • Act as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for Operations Readiness and Operations.

Qualifications & Experience

Educational Qualification

  • Tertiary Qualification in Commercial, Finance, Business Management, or related business field.
  • Experience in hydrocarbon processing, marine, or offshore-related fields.
  • Experience with floating production is desirable.

Relevant Experience

  • Experience with company commercial processes, financing, and Joint Venture Partner management.
  • Experience working in international locations with diverse cultures and languages.
  • Experience in shipyards, construction sites, and project offices. Offshore experience is highly desirable.
