Job Description:
- Lead Logistics operations which cover import/export, product compliance, and regulatory affairs.
- Establish, develop and implement strategies to drive logistics operation efficiencies.
- Determine, review & audit origin, HTS classification, and status of various Trade Agreements that allow the company to take advantage of reduced costs and duty savings in a compliance manner.
- Services multiple businesses including international locations and manages/maintains communications with internal/external legal counsel and government agencies, to ensure that any exposure to financial or legal risk is considered and mitigated as part of International Trade.
- Manage and provide training to the business on International Trade Compliance matters that ensure compliance and maintain ‘best practice’ that reduces exposure to fines and penalties.
- Ensure updated knowledge with regards to the International Trade Regulations. Analysis internal impact, provide plan or action steps for implementation as necessary to global teams.
- Identify issues and concerns as well as promote efficiency in the logistics operations through practical solutions and value-added recommendations where appropriate.
- Strong leadership capabilities, Coach and manage team members to deliver high morale and performance to drive company growth.
- Think out of the box and drive transformation where deem fit to enhance logistics operation performance.
- Work in conjunction with Business Development and Operations on new business expansion.
- Conduct feasibility & analytical study on the logistics operation of a potential new business location.
- Manage key stakeholders across the business to ensure that alignment exists related to Supply Chain & logistics challenges and potential commercial risks and opportunities.
- Communicate, coordinate and cooperate with related functions (Warehouse, Procurement, Retail operation, Business Development, etc.) together with global teams, to achieve the company target and goals. Collaborate on Site-level and country-level projects.
- Communicate and cooperate with relevant Government bodies (Trade Minister, Regulatory Authorities, Customs, etc.) and any 3PL’s regarding licenses, permits, and regulation updates – ensure wider business is updated on any pertinent information.
- Ensure that Logistics related KPIs are met and that necessary platforms (People, Processes and Systems) are in place to meet those KPIs.
- Collaborate with other Logistics leads in the region to anticipate Regional business needs, allowing the Logistics function to respond proactively.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree in any discipline
- Knowledgeable and professional in customs requirements, HS classification, Origin rules, FTA study, customs valuation and other global trade knowledge.
- Experience in export/import regulations and regulatory compliance required. Working year >10 years. Industry background with some exposure to fast-moving consumer goods industry (FMCG) e.g. food, retail etc.
- Good leadership skills, and analytical thinking.
- Fluency in English writing and speaking. Can understand Mandarin will be an added advantage.
