About the Role:
We are seeking a motivated Datacenter Network L0 Technician Intern to join our dynamic team and gain hands-on experience in data center operations. This is paid internship and ideal for individuals passionate about network infrastructure, hardware installation, and IT support. Under the guidance of experienced engineers, you will contribute to critical tasks in a fast-paced data center environment while developing foundational technical and professional skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist engineers with low-voltage cabling, hardware installation (servers, routers, switches, WAPs, etc.), and fire-stopping procedures.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, execute runbook procedures, and document steps in ticketing systems.
  • Terminate, test, and install IT cabling (Cat5, Cat6, Coaxial, Fiber Optics).
  • Perform cable management: pre-termination organization, labelling, and suspension via cable trays, J-hooks, etc.
  • Support server/network maintenance, troubleshoot hardware/software errors, and assist with cybersecurity initiatives.
  • Adhere to safety protocols: work at heights (12’ ladders, scissor lifts), wear PPE (hard hat, steel-toe boots, etc.), and follow data center best practices.
  • Provide after-hours support for network/server emergencies (as needed).
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure optimal data center performance.

Qualifications:

  • 0–2 years of experience in low-voltage systems, IT support, or related fields (students/recent grads welcome!).
  • Basic understanding of fiber optics, copper testing, and network cabling.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
  • Ability to follow detailed instructions and communicate effectively with teams.
  • Required Tools: Laptop, cell phone camera, hotspot, fiber cleaning supplies.
  • Familiarity with data center environments (servers, racks, cooling systems) is a plus.
