Overview

The Manager for Finance - Cost Management will be responsible for ensuring the Bank is highly cost effective through focusing on cost management including cost initiative projects. The successful candidate will work closely with the Performance Management team to achieve the goals & objectives of the Finance Division. This role will report to Head - Finance (Cost Management).

Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities

Financial Reporting & Analytics

  • Involved in monthly opex closing & reporting and supervise the preparation of relevant management reporting for MC meeting, including monthly bankwide opex flash reporting.
  • Perform monthly cost allocation (actual / budget / forecast) and shared service costs computation and reporting.
  • Quarterly forecasting process, validating and finalizing of business submission.
  • Annual Budget process including budget assumption, consolidation and validation of budget submission by Business Units/departments, simulation and recommendation for management approval.
  • Preparation of relevant cost management analysis slides for Management Committee and management within the stipulated timeline.

Cost Control & Optimization

  • Working with business and other divisions in developing SOP and strategic cost savings initiatives including tracking, reporting and validation on actual achievement.
  • Tracking and monitoring of accruals on non-business finance divisions to ensure accuracy and validity of accruals.
  • Evaluating, tracking and monitoring of Capital Expenditure Request (CER) and ensuring CER raised is in compliance with CER Policy. Preparation of capital expenditure report for Management Committee and Board Meetings.
  • Conduct Post Implementation Review (PIR) including validation of actual results against targets and preparation of PIR report for management on monthly basis.
  • Evaluating, tracking and monitoring of Expenditure Approval Request (EAR) and ensuring EARs are in compliance with EAR Policy for non-business finance divisions.

Systems & Administration

  • Provide support and maintain the Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) and Enterprise Performance Management (EPM) system
  • Managing the secretariat functions to the Bank’s Tender Review Committee (TRC).
  • Any other ad-hoc assignments relating to cost management and TRC.

Jobholder Requirements:

Requirements

  • Malaysian citizen.

Education/Qualification

  • Degree in Finance, Accounting or a quantitative discipline (e.g. Commerce, Economics, etc.).
  • Preferably with MIA and/or Professional Qualification

Experience

  • 5 years and above relevant work experience; Banking/Finance/Insurance Industry is a plus.
  • Work experience in departments such as accounting/ tax/audit with a big accounting firm is a plus.
  • Sound knowledge of Microsoft Office tools, Oracle Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) & Enterprise Performance Management (EPM)
