Telecommunications Technician
Responsibilities:
• Install, configure and maintain telecommunication equipment such as switches, routers and telephony systems.
• Provide technical support and troubleshooting assistance to end-users and internal teams.
• Diagnose and resolve network and equipment issues promptly to minimize downtime.
• Troubleshoot and repair faults in voice and data communication systems.
• Install and terminate network cables (e.g., Ethernet, fiber optic) following industry standards.
• Ensure proper cable management and labeling for easy identification.
• Assist in equipment upgrades and migrations, ensuring minimal disruption to communication services.
• Maintain accurate records of all installations, repairs, and maintenance activities.
Qualification and Experience:
• Diploma or equivalent; associate degree or technical certification in telecommunications or related fields.
• Proven experience as Telecommunication Technician or in a similar role.
• Proficient in installing and configuring network hardware and cabling.
• Strong knowledge of telecommunications equipment, protocols, and technologies.
• Familiar with VoIP, SIP, and telecom protocols.
• High understanding of network security principles.
• Good communication and customer service skills.
• Result-oriented mindset with a track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets.
• Exceptional negotiation, presentation, and closing skills.
• Self-motivated and proactive with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Flexibility to work irregular hours, including evenings and weekends, to accommodate client meetings and events.
