Job Summary:

This is a full-time on-site role for a Student Counselor located in Menara OUM, Kelana Jaya. The Student Counselor will be responsible for providing student counseling and career counseling services to support the academic and personal growth of students at Open University Malaysia.

Job Description:

  • Offer individual counseling sessions to support student's mental health and emotional well-being, helping them overcome challenges and maintain emotional balance.
  • Plan and facilitate career development workshops on career readiness topics, such as resume writing and interview preparation, to enhance student's employability and professional skills.
  • Maintain records and prepare reports on counseling sessions, workshops, surveys, and learner inquiries to ensure all requests and inquiries are addressed promptly and efficiently.
  • Organize and oversee learner satisfaction surveys and tracer studies to collect feedback and data from current learners and graduates, aiming to gather insights for continuous improvement and evaluation of learner services.
  • Assist in event coordination by providing support in organizing events or initiatives that enhance the learning experience for senior learners, including liaising with relevant departments.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Counseling or Counseling Psychology
  • At least 3 years of experience as a practicing counselor, preferably in an educational setting.
  • Ability to work effectively with diverse and adult student populations
  • Experience in advising and supporting students
