Job Summary:
We are recruiting on behalf of our client for a skilled and detail-oriented Accountant - Fixed Assets to join their finance team. This role is critical in managing the company’s fixed assets, ensuring accurate financial reporting, and maintaining compliance with accounting standards. The position is open to candidates based in Kuala Lumpur (KL) or Johor.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain and update the fixed asset register, ensuring all assets are accurately recorded and tracked.
- Record fixed asset acquisitions and disposals in a timely and precise manner.
- Calculate and record depreciation expenses in compliance with company policies and accounting standards.
- Reconcile fixed asset balances to the general ledger and resolve discrepancies.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual fixed asset reports for management and audit purposes.
- Assist with internal and external audits related to fixed assets.
- Develop, implement, and maintain fixed asset accounting policies and procedures.
- Ensure compliance with GAAP/IFRS and other applicable accounting regulations.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support financial projects and initiatives.
- Provide support for other accounting functions as needed.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- 2-3 years of experience in fixed asset accounting or a similar role.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and practices.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (e.g., pivot tables, VLOOKUP, advanced formulas).
- Experience with fixed asset accounting software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, or similar).
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to explain complex financial information clearly.
Preferred Qualifications:
- CPA or CMA certification (or in progress).
- Experience with SAP or other ERP systems.
- Knowledge of tax regulations related to fixed assets.
