Role Description
We are looking for a talented individual for Consultant, Maritime and Ports, to join our visionary team. The role would entail supporting our clients with optimally safe, sustainable and efficient maritime operations through data-informed solutions.
The ideal candidate will be knowledgeable in maritime and port operations, and exceptionally skilled in high-level analytical thinking and problem-solving, with meticulous attention to detail, capable of translating complex data into actionable intelligence and strategic advice.
Responsibilities
- Provide expert maritime intelligence analysis and strategic advisory services to address client needs.
- Conduct in-depth research, utilizing analytical techniques to identify and assess maritime risks and opportunities.
- Develop and implement innovative solutions to complex maritime challenges, ensuring data-driven and sustainable outcomes.
- Conduct navigation simulation studies, including sourcing input data and development of simulation reports.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, leveraging collective intelligence and advanced tools to enhance maritime risk management and decision-making processes.
- Write detailed reports on analysis and research, and prepare materials that effectively communicate findings.
- Present information in a clear and understandable manner during meetings and presentations.
- Maintain and foster positive with clients, providing insights and guidance to support their strategic objectives.
- Lead and manage assigned projects, including delegation of tasks, tracking of timelines, and communication with client and partners.
- Support in proposal development to tailor services to client needs as required.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or higher degree in Maritime, Nautical Science or related fields.
- A minimum of five (5) years of experience in related fields.
- Proficient in both English and Malay, with outstanding communication skills.
- Demonstrated knowledge of maritime and port operations and business.
- Demonstrated excellence in statistical, analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Experience with maritime risk management tools such as IWRAP Mk2 and ship handling simulation systems is advantageous.
- A track record in quantitative and qualitative maritime research.
- Exceptional organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage own workload.
