Role Description
This is a contract Admin Executive cum Copy Editor role based in Kuala Lumpur. The role is responsible for supporting research administration, managing research grants, ensuring compliance with institutional policies, and handling documentation. Additionally, the role involves copy editing research proposals, reports, and publications to maintain clarity, coherence, and accuracy. This position requires a blend of administrative expertise, research management knowledge, and strong editorial skills.
Job Scope:
1.Research Management Responsibilities
Research Grants & Funding Administration:
- Assist in managing research grant applications, funding disbursement, and compliance tracking.
- Ensure proper documentation and reporting for funded research projects.
- Monitor deadlines for grant submissions and financial reporting.
Compliance & Policy Implementation:
- Ensure research activities adhere to institutional, funding agency, and ethical guidelines.
- Assist in the development and dissemination of research policies.
- Support researchers in complying with publication and intellectual property (IP) policies.
Project Monitoring & Reporting:
- Maintain databases of ongoing research projects, funding, and publications.
- Track project progress, milestones, and deliverables.
- Assist in preparing reports for institutional and external stakeholders.
Training & Support Services:
- Assist in organizing research-related workshops, seminars, and training sessions.
- Provide administrative and editorial support to researchers.
2.Copy Editing Responsibilities:
Editing Research Proposals & Reports:
- Proofread and edit research proposals, progress reports, and final project reports for clarity, coherence, and formatting.
- Ensure documents meet institutional and funding agency standards.
Reviewing Academic Publications & Journals:
- Edit research papers, abstracts, and journal articles for grammar, consistency, and adherence to academic writing standards.
- Check for proper citation formats (APA, MLA, Chicago, etc.).
Maintaining Research Documentation:
- Ensure research-related documents are well-organized and archived.
- Maintain templates and guidelines for research writing and grant proposals.
Content Development & Communication:
- Assist in drafting newsletters, website content, and reports related to research activities.
- Ensure consistency in messaging and branding across research publications.
