We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Construction Manager specializing in Electrical and Mechanical systems for the solar energy industry. The successful candidate will oversee on-site construction activities, manage materials and documentation, and ensure compliance with safety and local regulations while leading a dynamic team.
Key Responsibilities:
- On-Site Management: Oversee and manage all on-site construction activities, ensuring that projects are executed according to design specifications and within budget.
- Team Leadership: Lead the construction team in planning, scheduling, conducting, and coordinating project activities effectively.
- Compliance Assurance: Ensure all construction work adheres to local regulations and safety requirements, promoting a safe work environment.
- Project Documentation: Maintain comprehensive documentation of project requirements and agreements to ensure alignment with project objectives.
- Resource Management: Ensure that project resources are equipped with the necessary tools and processes, and that staff receive appropriate training to deliver successful outcomes.
- Reporting and Documentation: Prepare detailed reports and technical documents to present solar design and feasibility findings to stakeholders.
- Feasibility Evaluation: Assess the economic, engineering, and pragmatic feasibility of solar installation projects based on electrical or architectural plans for both existing and new construction.
- Meeting Attendance: Participate in pre-construction meetings and tender meetings to discuss project scope and requirements.
- Strategic Implementation: Develop and implement strategies to align project direction with organizational goals and commitments, ensuring timely completion of objectives.
- Additional Duties: Perform any other duties as assigned by the immediate superior as required.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Experience: Minimum of 8-10 years of significant experience in project management at a senior level, with a strong background in construction, EPCC (Engineering, Procurement, Construction, and Commissioning), or solar energy.
- Educational Background: Bachelor’s Degree in Civil & Structural Engineering or Electrical & Electronic Engineering.
- Project Management Skills: Strong project and contract management abilities, complemented by excellent organizational and leadership skills.
- Communication Skills: Ability to liaise effectively with stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
- Planning Expertise: Developed skills in project/program management and planning, with a good understanding of performance management frameworks and tools to achieve business objectives.
