Environmental Officer - BASED IN LAWAS

1. Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA):• Conduct pre-construction environmental assessments to identify potential impacts.• Develop and implement mitigation measures to minimize environmental damage.• Monitor compliance with environmental regulations and permits. 2. Soil and Water Conservation:• Implement erosion and sediment control measures to protect water bodies.• Monitor water quality and quantity during construction activities.• Develop and implement soil conservation plans to prevent soil erosion. 3. Waste Management:• Develop and implement a waste management plan for construction and demolition waste.• Ensure proper disposal of hazardous waste.• Monitor recycling and reuse efforts. 4. Air Quality Management:• Implement measures to control dust and air pollution from construction activities.• Monitor air quality and take corrective actions if necessary. 5. Noise Pollution Control:• Implement noise mitigation measures to minimize disturbance to nearby communities.• Monitor noise levels and take corrective actions if necessary. 6. Vegetation and Wildlife:• Minimize impact on vegetation and wildlife habitats.• Implement measures to protect endangered species and their habitats. 7. Community Engagement:• Engage with local communities to address concerns and seek input.• Inform the community about potential impacts and mitigation measures. 8. Regulatory Compliance:• Ensure compliance with all relevant environmental regulations and permits.• Prepare and submit required environmental reports.• Coordinate with regulatory agencies. 9. Post-Construction Monitoring:• Monitor the long-term environmental impacts of the project.• Implement post-construction restoration and rehabilitation measures. Requirements: Additional knowledge of ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 standards will be an added advantage.
