Job Description: Quality Assurance Officer Department: Quality Assurance Industry: Manufacturing (Laundry Detergents and Cleaning Products) Location: Dozee Factory Reports To: Quality Assurance Manager --- Role Summary: The Quality Assurance Officer ensures that all laundry detergents and cleaning products meet national and international quality standards. This role involves conducting laboratory tests, analyzing results, maintaining compliance, and proposing improvements to uphold product quality and safety. The officer will also liaise with external laboratories for specialized testing and contribute to the continuous improvement of production processes. --- Key Responsibilities: 1. Testing & Quality Control: - Conduct quality control tests on raw materials, in-process products, and finished goods in accordance with national and international standards. - Prepare and handle test samples, ensuring proper procedures are followed. - Perform chemical, physical, and performance-based tests to validate product specifications. 2. Standards Compliance: - Ensure all products comply with applicable quality and safety standards (e.g., ISO, REACH, GMP). - Monitor adherence to environmental and regulatory requirements throughout the production process. 3. Analysis and Reporting: - Analyze and interpret laboratory test results to identify deviations from standards. - Prepare detailed reports documenting test procedures, results, and corrective actions. - Maintain accurate and organized records of all quality tests and inspections. 4. Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPA): - Investigate product non-conformities and customer complaints, identifying root causes. - Recommend and implement corrective and preventive measures to address quality issues. - Monitor the effectiveness of implemented solutions to ensure continuous improvement. 5. Collaboration with External Laboratories: - Liaise with third-party laboratories for tests that cannot be performed in-house. - Review and interpret outsourced laboratory reports to ensure they align with company standards. 6. Process Improvement: - Propose updates to quality assurance protocols and manufacturing procedures to enhance product quality. - Collaborate with production teams to ensure processes are efficient and meet quality benchmarks. 7. Equipment Maintenance & Calibration: - Ensure that laboratory equipment is properly maintained, calibrated, and operational at all times. - Arrange servicing and repairs as needed to minimize downtime. 8. Team Training & Support: - Provide training and guidance to production staff on quality standards and inspection procedures. - Promote a culture of quality awareness across departments. --- Key Skills & Competencies: -Technical Expertise: - Proficiency in laboratory testing techniques, including chemical and physical analysis. - Familiarity with detergents, surfactants, and cleaning agents' formulation and performance criteria. - Attention to Detail: - Keen observational skills to identify quality deviations and inconsistencies. - Problem-Solving: - Ability to analyze complex data and develop effective solutions for quality-related issues. - Communication Skills: - Strong verbal and written communication skills for reporting and team coordination. - Regulatory Knowledge: - Understanding of quality standards and regulations relevant to the manufacturing industry e.g., ISO 9001, GMP, REACH (If have taken as advantage). - Collaboration: - Ability to work effectively with internal teams and external laboratories. --- Qualifications & Experience: - Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a related field. - 2-3 years of experience in quality assurance, preferably in detergent or cleaning product manufacturing. - Knowledge of laboratory management systems (e.g., LIMS) and testing equipment. - Certifications in Quality Assurance (e.g., ISO 9001 Lead Auditor) are a plus. --- Work Environment: - Laboratory and manufacturing floor setting with exposure to chemical handling and testing. - Personal protective equipment (PPE) is required during specific tasks. --- Career Progression: This role offers the opportunity to advance into positions such as Quality Assurance Manager, R&D Specialist, or Regulatory Compliance Officer based on performance and expertise.
