JOB LOCATION : HQ office, off Federal Highway, Petaling Jaya Selangor

Job Summary:

Generally, responsible for ensuring workplace safety and compliance with the Occupational Safety and Health Act (OSHA) and other applicable safety laws and regulations. This role involves developing, implementing, and monitoring safety policies, conducting regular inspections and audits, and fostering a culture of health and safety across all levels of the organization.

Job Description:

ENVIRONMENTAL

  • Enforce and ensure compliance of all environmental laws and regulations and any Company standards and Company volunteer compliance obligations.
  • Develop and facilitate implementation of environmental management plan (EMP) and programmes.
  • Maintain an effective administration system, ensuring that all environmental checks are recorded and records maintained as per environmental system requirements.
  • Develop and review procedures and systems and drive their implementation (e.g. hazardous (scheduled) waste management, complaint handling, environmental aspect and impact, etc.)
  • Schedule, coordinate and conduct environmental audit by a third party including auditor accredited with Department of Environment (DOE) etc.
  • Monitor, analyse, report and communicate on Company’s environmental performance, activities and issues.
  • Investigate environmental incidents or complaints.
  • Develop and conduct environmental training programmes and assist in identifying Company environmental training needs

SAFETY & HEALTH

  • Assist OSHA Coordinators to carry out audits and put up recommendations on effectiveness of Health and Safety systems and procedure for OSHA committee's consideration as for further improvement. Assist in the preparation, maintenance and distribution of Health and Safety documents are for audit certification purposes.
  • Assist OSHA Coordinator, to ensure the respective department managers complies with current health and safety legislation such as the Occupational Safety and Health Act 1994, FMA1967, EQA1974, BOMBA Act 1988 and other approved codes of practice related to HSSE only.
  • Assist to carry out rectification action to mitigate the impact and likelihood of health and safety risks as recommended by Safety & Health officer.
  • Assist OSHA Committee in organizing Safety Awareness Program, Toolbox Meeting and Emergency Response Training Program or safety drills, as and when required.
  • Assist in conducting incident investigation and root cause analysis, implement corrective and preventive actions for any near miss case and accident investigation.

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Occupational Safety, Health, Environmental Management, or a related field.
  • Minimum 2-3 years of experience in similar or related role.
  • Strong understanding of occupational health and safety regulations, including the Occupational Safety and Health Act 1994, FMA1967, EQA1974, BOMBA Act 1988.
  • Certification as a Safety and Health Officer (Green Book) is an added advantage
  • Possess own transport and able to travel with short-notice period (if required)
