Job Description:

We are looking for a qualified and experienced Assistant Quantity Surveyor to join our team at the headquarters in Putrajaya. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing cost and financial control aspects of multiple construction projects at the head office level. This role involves managing budgets, preparing cost estimates, reviewing financial reports, and supporting the project teams to ensure projects remain within their budgets and timelines.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Cost Estimates & Budgets: Prepare, manage, and review detailed cost estimates, budgets, and financial reports for various construction projects at the head office level.
  • Site Measurements & Assessments: Coordinate with on-site teams to ensure accurate material and labor costing through regular site visits and assessments.
  • Cost Monitoring: Track and monitor the financial aspects of ongoing projects, ensuring that costs remain within agreed budgets.
  • Tenders & Contracts: Assist in preparing tenders, contracts, and other documentation to facilitate project execution.
  • Verification & Records: Ensure that all materials, work quantities, and subcontractor works are accurately recorded and properly verified.
  • Progress Claims & Final Accounts: Prepare and manage progress claims, variations, and final accounts with contractors and clients.
  • Liaison with Stakeholders: Work closely with contractors, engineers, and the project management team to ensure proper costing and financial control across all projects.
  • Cost Analysis & Advice: Conduct cost analysis and provide advice to project managers regarding cost-saving opportunities and potential risks.
  • Reporting & Documentation: Prepare regular reports for management and stakeholders and maintain accurate records of financial decisions made at the HQ level.
  • Invoice Management: Review and process invoices to ensure compliance with agreed contract terms.

Requirements:

  • Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
  • Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience in a Quantity Surveyor role, with exposure to managing multiple construction projects.
  • Certifications:
  • CIDB Certification (Essential).
  • Registration with the Board of Quantity Surveyors Malaysia (BQSM) or equivalent is an advantage.
  • Skills:
  • Strong knowledge of construction contracts, cost estimating, and financial management in construction.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (advanced) and Microsoft Word (for documentation and reporting).
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong analytical skills with a keen attention to detail.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Good understanding of local construction laws and regulations.
  • Languages: Proficiency in Bahasa Malaysia and English (both written and spoken).
  • Other Requirements:
  • Ability to travel to various construction sites as needed.
  • A proactive and professional approach to work.
  • Valid driver’s license.

Job Type: Contract
Contract length: 12 months

Pay: RM3,000.00 - RM4,500.00 per month
