Summary :

The Food & Beverage Servicing Crew Member is responsible for delivering high-quality food and beverages to inpatient rooms, ensuring that meals are served in compliance with dietary requirements, patient preferences, and hospital standards. This position also includes assisting with meal preparation, ensuring food safety, maintaining cleanliness, and providing excellent customer service to patients.

Job Description:-

1. Meal Delivery

  • Deliver meals to inpatient rooms in a timely and efficient manner, adhering to scheduled delivery times.
  • Ensure that each meal tray contains the appropriate food items as per the patient's prescribed diet, including any modifications for special dietary needs (e.g., diabetic, gluten-free, low-sodium, etc.).
  • Assist patients with meal setup and provide additional service, such as opening packaging, adjusting trays, or providing condiments/utensils.
  • Respond to patient requests promptly, addressing any concerns regarding meal temperature, presentation, or special needs.

2. Meal Preparation Assistance

  • Assist in meal assembly by ensuring the correct items are placed on trays based on the dietary plan and patient requirements.
  • Help with portion control to ensure compliance with nutritional guidelines.
  • Ensure meal safety, including maintaining correct food temperatures during assembly and delivery.

3. Food & Beverage Service

  • Ensure that beverages (water, juices, tea, etc.) are served to patients as required by their meal plan.

4. Patient Interaction & Satisfaction

  • Engage courteously with patients to ensure they are satisfied with their meals.
  • Record any feedback or concerns from patients regarding their meal experience and report to the supervisor or dietitian as needed.
  • Assist with patient requests for alternative menu options, considering hospital policies and dietary restrictions.

5. Cleanliness and Hygiene

  • Follow strict hygiene and sanitation protocols when handling food, trays, and utensils.
  • Ensure that food delivery carts, trays, and patient dining areas are clean and free of contamination.
  • Properly dispose of waste and ensure that used food items are taken back to the kitchen for cleaning.

6. Coordination with Other Hospital Departments

  • Communicate effectively with nursing staff and dietitians to address any changes to a patient’s dietary needs or meal preferences.
  • Collaborate with the kitchen staff to ensure that special dietary requests are properly prepared and delivered to the patients.

7. Dietary Modifications

  • Monitor and record special dietary needs of patients and ensure they are strictly adhered to in meal preparation and service.
  • Be familiar with the hospital’s dietary menu system and how to accommodate patients with allergies, intolerances, and other dietary restrictions.

8. Inventory Management

  • Help ensure the adequate supply of food items, utensils, and disposable goods for meal service.
  • Assist in the stocking and organization of food service areas, reporting any shortages or supply needs to the supervisor.

9. Reporting and Documentation

  • Maintain accurate documentation regarding meal delivery times, patient feedback, and any issues encountered during meal service.
  • Report any discrepancies or issues related to food delivery, patient complaints, or meal content to the supervisor immediately

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: RM1,800.00 - RM2,200.00 per month
