Job Title: Chef de Partie – Coffee House

Location: AnCasa Hotel Kuala Lumpur

Reports To: Head Chef / Sous Chef

Position Overview:

As a Chef de Partie in the Coffee House of AnCasa Hotel Kuala Lumpur, you will be responsible for the preparation and presentation of a wide variety of dishes such Western and Malays, in the coffee house section of our establishment. You will ensure the kitchen operates efficiently, maintain high standards of food quality and cleanliness, and deliver exceptional guest service in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Food Preparation: Prepare and cook a range of dishes, including coffee-based snacks, sandwiches, pastries, breakfast items, and light meals, ensuring high standards of presentation, taste, and portion control.
  • Menu Execution: Follow and execute recipes, and contribute to menu planning for seasonal specials, limited-time offers, or promotions aligned with the coffee house concept.
  • Kitchen Operations: Maintain a clean and organized workstation, ensuring all kitchen tools, equipment, and areas are kept in excellent condition. Assist with inventory management, stock rotation, and order supplies as needed.
  • Quality Control: Ensure that all dishes meet the hotel's quality standards and are prepared according to health and safety guidelines. Monitor food storage and waste management practices.
  • Team Collaboration: Work alongside other chefs, baristas, and kitchen staff to ensure smooth kitchen operations and timely service. Provide guidance and mentorship to junior kitchen staff as required.
  • Customer Focus: Ensure a high level of customer satisfaction by delivering quality meals in a timely manner. Occasionally, interact with guests to accommodate special requests or dietary restrictions.
  • Health & Safety Compliance: Adhere to food hygiene and safety regulations, keeping the kitchen clean and sanitized at all times. Follow safety protocols for equipment use and ingredient handling.
  • Maintenance: Report any issues with kitchen equipment or supplies to the appropriate department for repairs or replacement.

Key Skills & Qualifications:

  • Proven experience as a Chef de Partie, Demi Chef, or in a similar culinary role, preferably in a coffee house or casual dining environment.
  • Strong knowledge of coffee-based beverages, pastries, sandwiches, and light food offerings.
  • A passion for food, coffee culture, and guest service with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent knife skills, cooking techniques, and knowledge of food safety standards.
  • Ability to follow instructions and work effectively as part of a team.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Culinary certification or relevant education is desirable but not required.
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as per operational requirements.
