Project Manager

**Key Responsibilities:** 1. **Project Planning and Initiation:** - Develop comprehensive project plans, including timelines, budgets, and resource allocations. - Coordinate with architects, engineers, and other stakeholders to define project scope and objectives. - Secure necessary permits and ensure all regulatory requirements are met. 2. **Budget and Cost Management:** - Prepare and manage project budgets, ensuring cost control and adherence to financial guidelines. - Monitor project expenditures and implement cost-saving measures where possible. - Conduct regular financial reporting and variance analysis. 3. **Scheduling and Coordination:** - Develop detailed project schedules and ensure timely completion of all project phases. - Coordinate the activities of various contractors, subcontractors, and suppliers. - Monitor progress and make adjustments to schedules as necessary. 4. **Quality Control and Assurance:** - Implement quality control measures to ensure all work meets established standards and specifications. - Conduct regular inspections and audits to verify compliance with project plans and quality standards. - Address and resolve any quality issues promptly. 5. **Safety Management:** - Develop and enforce site-specific safety plans and protocols. - Ensure compliance with all occupational health and safety regulations. - Conduct regular safety meetings and training sessions for site personnel. 6. **Resource Management:** - Allocate and manage resources, including labor, materials, and equipment. - Ensure optimal utilization of resources to maximize efficiency and productivity. - Address any resource shortages or issues promptly. 7. **Stakeholder Communication and Reporting:** - Maintain effective communication with clients, architects, engineers, and other stakeholders. - Provide regular updates on project status, progress, and any issues or changes. - Prepare and submit detailed progress reports and documentation. 8. **Problem-Solving and Decision-Making:** - Identify and address any issues or challenges that arise during the project. - Make informed decisions to keep the project on track and within scope. - Implement contingency plans as necessary. 9. **Project Closeout:** - Ensure all project deliverables are completed to the required standards. - Conduct final inspections and obtain necessary approvals and certifications. - Prepare and submit project closeout documentation, including as-built drawings and warranty information. **Requirements:** 1. **Educational Qualifications:** - Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Architecture, or a related field. - A Master’s degree or professional certifications is a plus. 2. **Experience:** - Minimum of 5-10 years of experience in construction project management, with a focus on building and structural projects. - Those with experience handling projects at oil palm estates will have added advantage. 3. **Technical Skills:** - Proficiency in project management software (e.g., MS Project, Primavera, Procore) and other relevant tools. - Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, and regulations. - Ability to read and interpret architectural and engineering drawings. 4. **Management and Leadership Skills:** - Excellent leadership and team management abilities. - Strong organizational and multitasking skills. - Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to manage diverse teams and stakeholders. 5. **Financial Acumen:** - Solid understanding of budgeting, cost control, and financial reporting. - Ability to manage project finances and implement cost-saving measures. 6. **Problem-Solving Skills:** - Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. - Ability to make informed decisions quickly and effectively. 7. **Safety and Quality Focus:** - Thorough knowledge of safety regulations and quality standards in construction. - Commitment to maintaining high standards of safety and quality on all projects. 8. **Adaptability and Flexibility:** - Ability to adapt to changing project requirements and conditions. - Flexibility to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment. - Willing to be based at sites within Sarawak. **Desired Attributes:** 1. **Professionalism and Integrity:** - Demonstrates a high level of professionalism and ethical behavior. - Maintains integrity and transparency in all dealings. 2. **Client-Focused Approach:** - Strong commitment to client satisfaction and building positive client relationships. - Ability to understand and meet client needs and expectations. 3. **Innovative Thinking:** - Open to new ideas and approaches in construction management. - Ability to implement innovative solutions to enhance project efficiency and outcomes.
