Data Scientist
We are currently seeking to recruit a talented Data Scientist as an addition to the Application Sciences team to ensure the successful transformation and adoption of the developed predictive models for the biotechnology community. The successful candidate will be working closely with Application Scientist to unlock the deep value of mathematics and machine learning through data science, and deploy the analytical applications to the healthcare and agriculture researchers in university and research institutions.
Jobscope
Managing data science-related contract research
Working on biological datasets, software and data warehouse
Providing technical consultation on the project design and analysis strategy
Apply various data science technologies (statistical analysis, machine learning, image recognition and data visualisation) to solve research questions
Delivering data analytics, visualisation, data mining and interpretation
Developing data science-related products and applications
Assisting in integrating data analytics, algorithms and dashboard into existing software platforms
Preparing scientific report, publication and presentation
Conducting literature study and technological review
Maintaining internal documentation and SOP
Working closely with the software engineering team to add analytical capability to existing softwares
Skills and Requirements
A degree in Data Science, Applied Mathematics, Statistics, Computational Biology or other Related Science disciplines
Knowledge of biological research is an added advantage
Experience in high-level programmings such as R, Python, SQL or MATLAB
Experience in articulating research questions using mathematical techniques to arrive at an answer using available data
Have a deep understanding of large data, data structures and manipulation of data in an efficient manner
Familiar with data cleaning methods (clean, transform, merge and engineer) and processing frameworks
Experience with machine learning/statistical learning methodologies such as regression, feature selection, classification, clustering, unsupervised learning and time-series analysis
Experience in translating analysis results into scientific insights and business recommendation
Experience in designing analytics dashboards to communicate key analytical findings
Passionate in science and mathematics
Experience with JIRA, Trello and Github
Ability to quickly adapt to new problems and ideas
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
Strong time management skills
Strong verbal and written communication skills
