Overview: This job will consist of initial in depth training of very advanced instruments/ Machines that are used in Ophthalmology for treatment/diagnostic, the clinical use and applications of the instruments, sales techniques and practice development consulting. He/She will be immediately introduced in the highly specialized and sophisticated world of ophthalmology, offering him/her multiple opportunities of further development. After that, the candidate will be responsible of maintaining all the product information, servicing (PPM), trouble shooting and explain the products to potential customers, train new customers doctors and assist them in operating the instruments, train sales representatives, prepare and give product and application presentations at courses and events, as well as any other activities that will help grow the sales of the products. Commercial: Study characteristics and applications of assigned products, keep constantly updated of changes to the products though updates upgrades and new applications, transfer relevant knowledge to sales persons of the Company, train sales persons and users in the applications and proper use of the products and help sales persons in their sales efforts, by providing the necessary product information and joining them on critical sales visits and giving product presentations at clinical sessions, CME sessions, courses and events and the like. Technical: 1. Perform installations, connect equipment with computers and printers, check function, optimize adjustments and settings, calibrate equipment when needed according to manufacturer’s procedures. Perform quality control. 2. Repair equipment as far as trained, solve connectivity issues between equipment and computers, printers. Check software installations and find and solve related problems. If necessary will need to format drives and reinstall software after backing up data, restore data, etc. 3. Train and help users with the use of the products and the software. 4. Clean optics and equipment, tidy up installed equipment, routing cables neatly and securely. 5. Pack and unpack equipment and products correctly, securely and tidily. 6. Travel to customer’s location and proceed to installation, checking and repair as needed, or packing and organize shipping of product for repair or return if needed. 7. Write activity reports, expense reports and repair reports, logging times and spare parts or other components, timely. 8. Counsel customers on the use, handling and maintenance of the products. Train users and auxiliary personnel, like nurses or optometrists. Interface with customer’s technicians, if provided. 9. Help at special events, like demos, conventions or courses. Help to set up booths or products at roadshows. 10. Involved in sales activities Requirements: • Good knowledge of pc and windows, able to perform software installations and to deal with USB and other interface connection issues. • Good knowledge of LAN and WAN networking, able to set up such networks and /or to connect computers to them. • Good mechanical skills: dismantling and assembling electronic and/or mechanical or optical components with cleanliness and precision, soldering, drilling, etc. • Good attitude and communication skills with customers are very desirable, good temper, readiness to learn new technologies. Discreteness and sensitivity for the needs of the company. Supportive of the company and the customer. • Will have to sign and comply with non-disclosure agreements, keep manufacturer and company secrets. • Good background in electronics is desirable, but basic knowledge is a requirement, basic analog circuitry understanding, basic digital circuitry understanding, taking electrical readings, like voltage, current, resistance and impedance, frequency, etc., adjusting and calibrating. • Cleanliness and care with equipment, has to leave any repaired or installed equipment in pristine state of looks and function. • Excellent communication skills in English and Bahasa Malaysia. • Willing and able to travel outside KL from time to time, but most of the time will be based in KL. • An outgoing and persuasive attitude and ability to deal with people who hold differing beliefs or values • Confidence and persistence • Patience and self-motivation • A flexible approach in order to adapt to constant changes, for example in the healthcare system or product and technologies • Strong teamwork and networking skills • Commercial and business awareness • Good attitude with customers, good temper, readiness to learn new technologies. • Discreteness and sensitivity for the needs of the company.
