Responsibilities:

Market Analysis & Strategy Development:

  • Conduct in-depth market research and analysis to identify key trends, opportunities, and competitive landscape within the oil and gas sector in Malaysia.
  • Develop and execute a comprehensive business development strategy to expand the company’s market share in the oil and gas services industry.
  • Identify emerging market opportunities, such as offshore drilling, upstream and downstream services, pipeline maintenance, and energy transition projects.

Client Acquisition & Relationship Management:

  • Identify and establish relationships with key decision-makers at potential client companies, including oil and gas operators, EPC (Engineering, Procurement, and Construction) contractors, and service providers.
  • Cultivate and manage long-term relationships with existing clients, ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction and repeat business.
  • Lead negotiations and the preparation of proposals, ensuring alignment with client needs and expectations.
  • Ensure timely follow-ups and maintain consistent communication with clients to foster strong, ongoing business relationships.

Proposal Development & Tendering:

  • Lead the preparation of bids, proposals, and presentations for new business opportunities, ensuring alignment with the client’s technical and commercial requirements.
  • Collaborate with technical teams to design and present customized solutions for clients.
  • Analyse tender documents, understand client needs, and submit competitive and cost-effective proposals.

Industry Networking & Branding:

  • Represent the company at industry events, conferences, and seminars to network with potential clients and stakeholders.
  • Promote the company’s brand, services, and capabilities within the Malaysian oil and gas industry.
  • Establish the company as a trusted partner in the oil and gas sector by ensuring excellent customer service and demonstrating technical expertise.

Qualification Requirements:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Business, or related field (Master’s degree preferred).
  • Experience: Minimum 5 to 7 years of experience in business development within the oil and gas services industry, with a strong track record in sales and client relationship management. Experience in complex lifting would be an added advantage as we are planning to expand our engineering solutions in Malaysia, not only with E&P operators but also with EPC and FPSO operators.
  • Industry Knowledge: Strong understanding of the oil and gas industry, including upstream, midstream, and downstream services.
  • Technical Knowledge: Familiarity with key technologies and services used in the oil and gas sector (e.g., drilling, subsea operations, pipeline maintenance, equipment supply).
  • Cultural Awareness: Knowledge of the business culture in Malaysia and the Southeast Asian oil and gas market.
  • Language Skills: Proficiency in English and Bahasa Malaysia (preferred).
  • Certifications: Relevant certifications in business development, project management, or industry-specific qualifications (e.g., PMP, APMP) are a plus.
