Job Summary: Promote, monitor, enforce, advise and ensure continual safety & health implementation in compliance with legal, OSH Management System and organizational requirements. Key Responsibilities / Duties: 1. Implement the safety and health related policies, procedures, instructions, rules and regulations. 2. Ensure that safe work condition is maintained throughout the project duration. 3. Train, monitor and closely supervise all the workers towards minimize safety and health risk during commencing activities at work site. 4. Conduct training such as tool box briefing and safety awareness to all the workers. 5. Report any accident, incident or any dangerous occurrence involving personnel or plant & equipment to his/her immediate superior. 6. Conduct daily safety inspection and identify unsafe act or unsafe condition that may lead to any dangerous occurrence and to ensure the safety system in compliance with the safety & health legal and project requirements. 7. Assessing hazard potential for all the activities under their control, record the result of the assessment and devising appropriate preventive measures accordingly. 8. Regulate and compile data and performance of project sites and produce statistics and reports. 9. Supervise and ensure all sub-contractors carry out the work according to the safety & health procedure, instruction and legal requirements. 10. Monitor and check the implementation of suitable corrective and preventive actions for any noncompliance issued. 11. Review issuance of Permit to Work, task statement and monitor the implementation of Pre-task briefing at work place. 12. Ensure that Safety is a line responsibility and that everyone on this job-site understands the safety concept and show commitment and encourage workers to participate in any safety & health related programs. 13. To issue observation, nonconformance report or Stop Work Order for any identified nonconformance at project site based on the seriousness of the risk. 14. To cease operation and ensure immediate action is taken if there is high risk on safety of the workers and in order to prevent unsafe working practices. 15. Keeping safety procedures up-to-date and making necessary adjustments based on new regulations or site-specific needs. 16. Continuously identify potential safety hazards and risks in the work environment and Implement control measures to mitigate identified risks. 17. Organizing and conducting regular safety training sessions for all workers, including specific training for high-risk activities. Leading daily or weekly safety briefings (toolbox talks) to address current safety concerns and updates. 18. Ensuring that emergency response procedures are in place and that all workers are familiar with them. 19. Keeping detailed records of safety inspections, incidents, training sessions, and safety meetings. 20. Coordinate with site managers, project managers, and other supervisors to ensure safety practices are integrated into all aspects of the project. 21. Ensure that appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is available, properly used, and maintained by all workers and conduct regular checks to ensure the proper use and condition of PPE. 22. Fostering a culture of safety where every worker feels responsible for their own safety and the safety of their colleagues. 23. Encouraging workers to report unsafe conditions, near-misses, and incidents without fear of reprisal. Use feedback from workers and findings from incident investigations to continuously improve safety practices. 24. Promote health and wellness initiatives, such as stress management and ergonomic practices. 25. Staying up-to-date with local, national, and international health and safety regulations. 26. Organize and conduct regular emergency drills to ensure that workers are prepared for potential emergencies. 27. Ensuring that first aid facilities are available and that trained first aid personnel are on site. Conduct regular check on all first aid facilities on site and review the performance of appointed first aider. Qualifications: • Possess at least a Certificate in Occupational Safety and Health. • Registered Site Safety Supervisor (Valid Yellow Book Holder) with DOSH. Experience: • Minimum 3 years of practical experience relevant to the works preferably in construction. Skills & Abilities: • Excellent knowledge of local SHE legislation requirements and SHE Management System requirements. • Good SHE technical knowledge. • Ability to work independently with minimum supervision.
