Job Summary: To plan, monitor and implementing environmental policy and procedures, conducting site inspections, and working closely with site management and regulatory bodies to mitigate environmental impacts and compliance related to environmental requirements. Key Responsibilities / Duties: 1. Ensure all construction activity adhere to EIA Approval Conditions, environmental legal and other requirement and maintain updated knowledge of environmental laws and standards relevant to construction activity. 2. Ensure all BMPs specified in the Environmental Management Plan (EMP) and Erosion Sediment Control Plan (ESCP) are well implemented and efficiently used at construction site. 3. Provide technical advice to the construction team on the implementation of mitigation measures in EMP. 4. Conduct weekly site inspections with the Project Manager to monitor environmental compliance within the construction site identify potential environmental risks and advise for any corrective actions. 5. Conduct daily site inspections related to BMP structure and environmental pollution control and update the site daily diary logbook. 6. Conduct a bi-weekly site meeting to highlight and discuss any matters related to environmental implementation and issues. 7. Assist the employer with the Environmental Performance Monitoring Committee (EPMC) establishment and the implementation of the Environmental program at the workplace. 8. Carry out in-situ monitoring at the water discharge point at every silt trap/ WTP within 30 minutes after the rain event. If the rain continues for more than 24 hours, the monitoring shall be conducted once per day. 9. To report in the ESC online system (by DOE) within 24 hours after rain events are 12.5 mm or more. 10. Ensure monthly monitoring of environmental parameters (Air Quality, Water Quality, Noise Level and Vibration Level) is carried out by DOE registered consultant/laboratory and review the reports for analysis and planning. 11. Ensure all related Environmental Mainstreaming Tools (EMT) are fully implemented on site and all records shall be documented. 12. Carry out incident investigations in the event of any incident related to Environment that have occurred in the workplace. 13. Assist and participate of any joint environmental inspection with enforcing authorities, clients, and management team. 14. Coordinate with the construction team on waste management on site including domestic waste, construction waste, scheduled waste, and biomass waste. 15. To be a reference person on scheduled waste implementation, and documentation at specified construction site and involved in creating account (eSWIS) for scheduled waste management and manage online documentation including notification, inventory and consignment note. 16. Participate and assist in the Internal SHE Audit and 3rd Party Environmental Audit in related to environmental implementation and documentation. 17. Prepare and submit any regular environmental reports to site management, client and local authorities and maintained comprehensive records of environmental performance and compliance at specified construction areas. 18. Act as a liaison person with environmental-related authorities on environmental matters at the construction sites. 19. Performing duties as specified in the Environmental Impact Assessment Guideline in Malaysia (EGIM) issued by the Department of Environment. Qualifications: • Possess at least Bachelor's Degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering or equivalent. • Certified Professional for Environmental Officer for EIA Project (CePEOEIA). • Certified Erosion, Sediment and Stormwater Inspector (CESSWI) or Certified Inspector on Sediment and Erosion Control (CISEC). • Certified Professional for Scheduled Waste Management (CePSWaM) is an added advantage. Experience: • Minimum 5 years of experience relevant to the works preferably in construction. Skills & Abilities: • Familiarize with environmental legal and other requirement such as EQA 1974, Scheduled Waste Regulations, Clean Air Regulations, etc. and have exposure on ISO 14001:2015. • Ability to conduct and interpret EIAs to assess the potential adverse impacts of projects to the environment. • Ability to analyze environmental data, interpret results and generate detail summary based on the specified reports. • Have sufficient knowledge on identifying environmental issues and developing effective solutions. • Good interpersonal skills and able to building relationship with diverse groups such as construction team, authorities, and clients. • Proactive personnel in identifying opportunities for improving environmental performance and working as a team for a favorable outcome.
