  • To support the SSS Lead / Safety and Health Officer in inspecting the place of work to determine whether any machinery, plant, equipment, substance, appliance, or process of any description of manual labour used in the work is of such a nature that probable to cause bodily injury to any person on a daily basis, and then report to PIC for improvement action.
  • To ensure that the company's policies, working procedures, working instructions, safety, health, and environmental (SHE) management system, and other management-mandated instructions are successfully applied.
  • To support the SSS Lead/Safety and Health Officer in inspecting workers' induction stickers, daily work permits, and CIDB green card validity before they reach the workplace.
  • Assist the SSS Lead / Safety and Health Officer in organising daily / weekly safety toolbox conferences before personnel begin their work on site. To accompany and support the SSS Lead / Safety and Health Officer / QSHE Manager on safety walkabouts, site safety inspections, and safety auditing at the workplace.
  • To support the SSS Lead / Safety and Health Officer in implementing an internal permission to work (PTW) system, as well as reviewing and ensuring that all work activities comply with the Project Safety Plan (PSP) criteria.To help the SSS Lead / Safety and Health Officer / QSHE Manager in conducting an investigation into any workplace accident, near miss incident, dangerous occurrence, occupational poisoning, or disease.
  • Participate in and support the Environmental, Health, and Safety Committee with any inspections of the workplace to ensure the effectiveness and efficiency of any measures implemented prior to the monthly safety and health meeting.
  • To help the SSS Lead / Safety and Health Officer / QSHE Manager in promoting the Occupational Safety and Health Campaign as needed.To support the SSS Lead / Safety and Health Officer / QSHE Manager in collecting and maintaining safety statistics such as accidents, dangerous occurrences, occupational poisoning, and disease that occur at the workplace.
  • To help the SSS Lead / Safety and Health Officer with the implementation and review of the Hazard Identification, Risk Assessment, and Risk Control (HIRARC) before the start of work on site.
  • To support the SSS Lead / Safety and Health Officer in implementing the Project Safety Plan (PSP), as well as the legal and other requirements on the site.
  • Responsible for keeping and updating safety records in the SHE Department.Assist any Officer from the client's QSHE Department and/or Department of Occupational Safety and Health (DOSH) in carrying out his duties on the job.
  • Be responsible for quality, safety, health, and environmental management and performance.To undertake any other work duties as requested by the QSHE Manager or Management.
  • Possess valid SSS Competency – Yellow Book by DOSH.
  • Degree / Diploma / Certificate in OSH or equivalent.
  • Preferable with 2-3 years of working experience in building construction.
  • Familiar with “OSHA (Amendment) 2022” and other relevant laws.
  • Computer literate.
  • Familiar with local laws/regulations and local authorities (related to the construction field).
  • Required languages: English, National Language (BM)
  • Able to lead and manage the safety and health teams for multiple projects
  • Working knowledge of ISO standards and the preparation, implementation and maintenance of the quality management system is an added advantage
