1. Health & Safety Compliance
- Ensure compliance with OSHA 1994, FMA 1967, and DOSH regulations.
- Maintain and update HSE policies, procedures, and SOPs in line with local and industry standards.
- Liaise with DOSH, DOE, and other regulatory bodies for inspections, audits, and certifications.
2. Risk Assessment & Incident Management
- Conduct hazard identification, risk assessment, and control (HIRARC).
- Investigate workplace accidents, near misses, and safety violations; recommend corrective and preventive actions.
- Maintain records of accidents, incidents, and safety reports.
3. Training & Awareness
- Conduct HSE training and induction for new employees and contractors.
- Organize fire drills, emergency response exercises, and first aid training.
- Promote safety culture through awareness programs and toolbox talks.
4. Environmental Management
- Monitor waste management, water treatment, and pollution control in compliance with DOE regulations.
- Ensure proper handling and disposal of hazardous chemicals in accordance with EQA 1974.
- Conduct environmental impact assessments and sustainability initiatives.
5. Workplace Safety & Inspections
- Perform routine safety inspections and audits on equipment, PPE, and work areas.
- Ensure proper ergonomic and hygienic practices in production areas.
- Enforce lockout-tagout (LOTO) and confined space entry procedures.
6. Emergency Preparedness
- Develop and implement Emergency Response Plans (ERP).
- Coordinate with the Fire Department, Ambulance Services, and First Aid Teams.
- Maintain fire extinguishers, first aid kits, and emergency exit routes.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Diploma/Degree in Occupational Safety & Health, Environmental Science, or a related field.
- Green Book Certification (DOSH Registered Safety Officer) is preferred.
- Minimum 3-5 years of experience in HSE within manufacturing, preferably poultry processing or food industry.
- Strong knowledge of OSHA, FMA, EQA, HACCP, GMP, and food safety standards.
- Excellent communication, problem-solving, and leadership skills.
- Ability to conduct training and audits effectively.
Additional Requirements:
- Willing to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Willing to work and based in Simpang Renggam, Johor
- Able to handle shift work or extended hours if required.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and HSE reporting tools.
