Position Overview: The Head of A-Level Programme is responsible for overseeing the academic and administrative management of the A-Level programme at City University Malaysia. This role includes curriculum planning, faculty supervision, student development, and ensuring compliance with educational standards. Key Responsibilities

1. Academic Leadership and Curriculum Management

Develop, implement, and continuously improve the A-Level curriculum in accordance with Cambridge/Edexcel standards.

Ensure alignment of the A-Level programme with the university’s strategic objectives and regulatory requirements.

Monitor and evaluate teaching methodologies to enhance student learning outcomes.

2. Faculty Management

Recruit, train, and mentor A-Level faculty members to maintain high teaching standards.

Conduct performance appraisals and provide professional development opportunities.

Foster a collaborative and innovative academic environment among educators.

3. Student Development and Support

Oversee student admissions, progression, and academic performance.

Provide guidance and support to students regarding academic and career pathways.

Develop strategies for student engagement, retention, and overall success.

4. Quality Assurance and Compliance

Ensure compliance with accreditation bodies, educational regulations, and university policies.

Conduct periodic programme reviews and implement improvements based on feedback and best practices.

Maintain up-to-date knowledge of changes in A-Level education and integrate them into the programme.

5. Stakeholder Engagement

Build and maintain relationships with students, parents, faculty, and external educational bodies.

Represent the university in academic and industry events related to pre-university education.

Collaborate with admissions and marketing teams to promote the A-Level programme.

6. Administrative and Operational Duties

Manage the A-Level department’s budget, resources, and facilities.

Ensure smooth day-to-day operations and address any academic or administrative issues.

Perform any other duties assigned by the university’s management as needed.
