The Grant Manager for Education (Learning Recovery) serves as the principal administrative and informational contact for Yayasan Hasanah (YH) regarding learning recovery efforts. This position plays a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of grant administration processes and support for grantees involved in the program. Responsibilities include facilitating grant applications, tracking implementation, monitoring outcomes, and ensuring compliance with YH guidelines. The role also involves collaboration with internal teams, building relationships with grantees, and providing technical assistance and capacity-building to partners for effective program delivery and impact.

Key Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for Program Anak Kita, addressing queries related to the grant and providing technical assistance when needed while fostering strong relationships with education partners to advance learning recovery initiatives.
  • Manage the end-to-end grant lifecycle, fund disbursement, and compliance monitoring. Provide guidance to grantees to ensure alignment with Program Anak Kita’s objectives, while maintaining comprehensive records of grant agreements, progress reports, and deliverables. Monitor grant expenditures to ensure full compliance with YH’s financial policies and guidelines.
  • Work closely with the Education team, MLE, Strategy & Programme Coordination teams, develop an understanding of the impact that YH funding on learning recovery initiatives. Escalate critical queries from grantees to the Chief Education Officer, Senior Grant Manager (Learning Recovery) and MLE team as appropriate.
  • Ensure timely submission of grant reports and review them against key performance indicators (KPIs). Track, analyze, and report on KPIs to assess the impact of grants on learning recovery outcomes. Develop comprehensive case reports with actionable recommendations to drive program improvement and inform future planning.
  • Coordinate and participate in field visits with Education team, MLE, Strategy & Programme Coordination teams to monitor grantee progress, identify challenges, and ensure effective program implementation. Provide guidance on meeting program objectives, with a focus on capacity-building, sustainability, and financial viability.
  • Take an active and developmental role with grantees to help build the capacity of grantees, enhance the effectiveness of their work, including through advising on long-term sustainability and financial viability, and to maximise learning within and across grant themes.
  • Coordinate meetings or events between grantees with Education team, MLE, Strategy & Programme Coordination and relevant parties and to prepare and present written case reports with detailed analysis and recommendations.
  • Liaise closely with the grants administration team, ensuring timely disbursement of funds/support to grantees/partners.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Education or any related disciplines from a reputable university.
  • Minimum five (5) years relevant working experience in related disciplines, preferably Education or a similar role in a non-profit organization/social sector.
  • Strong grant management skills, including experience with grant applications, monitoring, evaluation, and reporting.
  • A genuine interest and knowledge on educational issues. Knowledge and experience in remedial teaching and learning recovery is an added advantage
  • Strong interpersonal and negotiation skills with ability to communicate well at all levels of the organization, as well as with stakeholders, grant partners and external parties.
  • Strong creative and problem-solving skills with the ability to exercise sound judgment and make decisions based on accurate and timely analyses.
  • Good communication and organizational skills, both verbal and written, with meticulous attention to detail.
  • High level of integrity and dependability with a strong sense of urgency and focus on results.
  • Flexibility; must be willing and capable of adapting to changing priorities and deadlines.
