About the Company
The Sustainable Finance Institute Asia (SFIA) is an independent institute established to catalyse ideas on sustainable finance at the policy level, as well as propel action in support of those policy ideas in Asia, particularly in the ASEAN region. We are looking for an Analyst/Senior Analyst with strong written and spoken language skills, positive attitude, critical thinking aptitude, who possesses research and analytical capabilities. The Analyst/Senior Analyst will work as part of a team that works to provide unbiased and credible policy recommendations and implementation support to countries in the region, particularly ASEAN Member States. Given this, it is crucial for the Analyst/Senior Analyst to be able to think strategically and have the ability to perform in-depth research on areas relating to sustainable finance as well as the wider sustainability agenda such as transition finance and disclosures, and to synthesise the findings in a precise, concise and timely manner. The candidate needs to be a self-starter who is very responsive and able to collaborate productively with team members as well as operate independently to achieve deliverables. This role requires competencies in coordination and technical knowledge, or minimally the ability to develop and grasp technical competencies quickly via mentorship and self-learning.
About the Role
The responsibilities of the Analyst/Senior Analyst include but are not limited to:
- Conducting in-depth research and analysis to capture information and salient points on specific sustainable finance or ESG-related issues, particularly in the ASEAN region.
- Preparing deliverables including reports, meeting minutes, presentations and board papers.
- Assist in managing and delivering requirements from senior-level ASEAN regulators in the development work of various projects.
- Coordinating and managing work, including administrative support to develop sustainable finance at an ASEAN level.
- Assist in the management of various projects including preparing fundraising collaterals, monitoring timelines and budget as well as proposing solutions to increase efficiency.
- Lead and contribute to the development of SFIA's technical acumen and capabilities.
- Supporting other team members in their areas of focus where research capabilities are needed.
Attributes of the Candidate
The ideal Analyst/Senior Analyst will have the following:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent qualification in Economics, Sustainable Finance, Energy/Climate Policy, Climate Finance, Finance/Accountancy, Business Studies, Commerce, or related areas.
- Native-level proficiency in English.
- Prior working experience is required (minimum 3-5 years).
- Strong research, writing and analytical capabilities, with a keen eye for detail.
- Diplomatic and measured.
- Able to work independently and also collaboratively.
- Ability to multi-task while prioritising deadlines.
- Proficiency in using Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Knowledgeable in sustainable finance, climate change, sustainability and/or other ESG-related matters.
