Assistant Fund Accountant
Clients engage RGP for expertise in delivering large and complex projects to strengthen their business. We have an interim Assistant Fund Accountant opportunity within the Insurance sector where you will assist in Fund Accounting processes and ensure accurate Net Asset Value (NAV) calculation.
KEY DELIVERABLES
- Apply your double-entry accounting knowledge to manage fund accounting tasks effectively.
- Ensure accurate Net Asset Value (NAV) calculation and the pricing of financial instruments like equities, bonds, and derivatives.
- Manage trade booking, settlement, pricing, and lifecycle activities for derivatives such as FX Swaps, IT Swaps, IRS, bond futures, and options.
- Oversee the booking of cash transactions and trades, as well as cash and position reconciliations, ensuring timely resolution of breaks.
- Conduct daily portfolio price variance checks for all investment portfolios and composites.
- Handle the month-end close process in IBOR, focusing on valuation and investment data.
- Prepare and circulate weekly MIS reports to the Investment Group Office.
- Review and update fund mandates and ACOM setups on a fortnightly basis.
PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
- Extensive experience in investment operations with a strong understanding of financial processes.
- A flexible team player with excellent multitasking and problem-solving skills.
- Proven ability to manage stakeholder relationships and hold delivery partners accountable.
- Experience with derivative handling, particularly within EMS-IBOR and Bloomberg platforms.
- Comprehensive understanding of front-to-back processes and platforms, including trade lifecycle and structured notes issuance.
- A control-focused mindset with the ability to identify and mitigate operational risks.
- Analytical and detail-oriented, capable of meeting tight deadlines in a dynamic environment.
- Skilled in negotiation and influencing at various organizational levels.
EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
- Past experience of Fund Accounting, ideally within the Insurance Sector
- A proactive and detail-oriented professional who can excel under pressure.
- A collaborator with excellent communication skills and the ability to liaise effectively with multiple teams.
