Role Description
This is a full-time on-site role for a Claims, Asset Rehab & Recovery Manager/Senior Manager located in WP. Kuala Lumpur. The role involves managing claims, asset rehabilitation, and recovery processes on a day-to-day basis.
Pre-Examination of claims
• Advise Participants/Policyholders who encounter payment difficulty problems to take appropriate measures in preventing advert potential claims and minimising losses.
• Conduct site visit to the Participant’s/Policyholder’s premises for rectification of irregularities on the claims made.
• Compute Specific Claim Provisions for Insurance Non-Probable Loss and prepare management paper for approval on provisions.
Claims Examination
• Examine the legitimacy of claims made by policyholders and ensure that payments conform to the Takaful Certificates/Insurance Policy as well as the principles and practises laid out in the Claim Manual.
• Prepare proposal papers for settlement of claims and restructuring of debts payment and submit to the relevant approving committee for approval.
• Ensure the documentations for subrogation of rights by the participant/policyholder to the bank is perfected so that the bank’s right to claim over the amounts outstanding is secured.
Recovery
• Restructure the buyer’s outstanding based on the relevant restructuring guidelines and policy adopted by the Bank. Prepare proposal paper for submission to the relevant approving authority for approvals. Thereafter, monitor payments until full settlement.
• Initiate the necessary actions expediently against Buyers who fail to settle the outstanding by way of legal action.
• Liaise and work collaboratively with debt collection agency on the recovery of the debts and monitor collection and payment of commission regularly.
Reporting
• Prepare and maintain ledgers on portfolios/accounts assigned.
• Prepare periodical reports in relation to takaful/insurance claims and recoveries to be submitted to the Head of Department, the bank’s credit committee and statutory bodies, when required.
File Management
• Responsible for requisition of participant/policyholder and buyer files in relation to the claim examination from Takaful/Insurance Administration Department and Underwriting Department.
• Open and maintain claim files and any other documents related to takaful/insurance claims and recovery.
• Prepare and maintain filing system on takaful/insurance claims and recovery.
• Ensure that all correspondence and documents are filed in the respective of takaful/insurance claims and recovery account files systematically.
• Recording the inflow and outflow of files.
Correspondence
• Register all internal and external correspondence for takaful/insurance claims and recoveries received and issued by the department.
• Draft letters and Memorandums in relation to the portfolios assigned.
• Ensure the documentations for subrogation of rights by the participant/policyholder to the bank is perfected so that the bank’s right to claim over the outstanding amount is secured.
Follow -up
• Communicate with Policyholder’s buyer and/or the appointed debt collection agent for payments of the debts with a view to maximise recovery of claims and to reduce losses.
Relationship Building

Qualifications
- Experience in claims management, asset rehabilitation, and recovery
- Experience in credit risk / impaired asset recovery (preferable)
- Experience in litigation end to end (preferable)
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills
- Knowledge of banking and financial industry regulations
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment
- Attention to detail and organizational skills
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business, or related field
